Good Morning Readers!
Yesterday in our Easter Service there was a song sung...nothing new as I had heard it before...but it more than aptly describes the accomplishment of Jesus and the the battle He won against the enemy. I think it is nice to consider the wonder of The Crucifixion and the wonder of His resurrection and the blessing we received from God who loves man so much that He would do this for us to bring us back into relationship with Him and give us the opening to spend Eternity with Him. This really touched me at our Resurrection Sunday service. I hope it touches you!

Adjusting My Attitude - Adjusting My Expectations......Monday
You don't have to raise kids or be a psychologist to figure out that people act in a certain way. It may not make sense. Like the co-worker who is condescending to everyone- then you meet someone from their family who is so nice- you might be tempted to think that it doesn't make sense. But those are our expectations - some of us tend to think if you had polite parents- you will be a polite person.
No matter who raises us, or who neglects us, or whatever happens to us - each of us develops our own reactions and behaviours that become habits. When we think someone should act a certain way - those are expectations. Now if you are their coach, when they signed onto your team they agreed to be led by you - your expectations become their goals. But in most of life, our expectations don't end up that way.
Our 4 guests, new acquaintances, sat down to a holiday dinner with us. Shortly after the meal, 2 of them said goodbye and left. Thirty minutes later, after dessert, the remaining 2 took their leave.
The rather quick dinner took us by surprise because we expect to sit and visit for hours when we have company. We had never told them the schedule we had in mind - so they didn't have a chance to let us know if that would work for them.
We didn't stop inviting new people to dinner. We just adjusted our own expectations that perhaps we would socialize after dinner - but maybe we would not.
Dear Lord, thank You for understanding that sometimes it is easier to adjust our attitude than others. Please gives us eyes to see who we really are and help us to take responsibility for ourselves. Please help us to recognize when we are trying to change others and when we are feeling sorry for ourselves. Thank You, Lord, for loving us through it all. In Jesus name, amen.

“We cannot change our past. We can not change the fact that people act in a certain way. We can not change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.”
― Charles R. Swindoll
I have loved you with a love that lasts forever.
And so with unfailing love, I have drawn you to myself.
