Writing 4 Friday...7/3/20..."Pay Attention-Listen"

Good Morning,

This morning the theme for this writing is the importance of paying attention and listening to people in our lives and to the words that God whispers to us from which we can choose good habits and gain wisdom. Here is a quote from this writing, "God is our Creator who knew us from all eternity and what road we should be on throughout our lives. We have to listen to Him and become familiar of the ways He speaks to us."

It would be a good thing to practice to form habits of listening to the words of God so that you may gain wisdom.

May you be blessed in your endeavors.

"Pay Attention-Listen"

Your own ears will hear him.
Right behind you a voice will say,
“This is the way you should go,”
whether to the right or to the left.
Isaiah 30:21

How often have you realized that someone is talking to you and you cannot remember a word that was spoken. Human beings have five senses. They are sight, touch, smell, taste, and hearing. The first four listed here are senses that come to us without any effort on our part. This is not so for the sense of hearing which requires us to pay attention. Without paying attention this sense is often ignored. Whatever the topic being presented, when we do not pay attention and listen we will miss the point.

This happens all the time in our lives. Things we do not hear include...
  • Things your mother or teacher speaks when you are daydreaming. They are annoyed.
  • Missing the rules of a game you you are playing with friends...you loose the game
  • The examples of loss of attention are numerous and it makes your life difficult.
A very important reason for paying attention is that the Lord is speaking into your life and heart. He gives you insights about life, how you should live it, and what he has planned for the path you should follow. Isaiah 30:21 informs us that our ears will hear Him and He tells us to go to the right or to the left and we should listen to Him.

God is our Creator who knew us from all eternity and what road we should be on throughout our lives. We have to listen to Him and become familiar of the ways He speaks to us.
