Good Morning,
Carol Steficek is the author of the writing for today which is titled "WORSHIP." Her theme is that people leave a church because the church is "not meeting their needs." Carol mentions what the two things that are important to people are not always recognized by them. These things are worship and learning about Jesus and how we can imitate Him. Carol wrote, "The second reason to come to church is to learn more about the example of Jesus and to follow in His steps. This means we learn how to be servants -- to meet the needs of others, not ourselves. We don't come to church to "meet our own needs" (although God certainly does that through His Word and sacraments), but to find ways to go out into the communities in which we live to serve others."
That should be on our minds and in our actions as we maneuver through life.
God bless,
Carol and Corinne

The first is to worship God. This is our time during the week to put everything else aside to give our undivided attention to God. We are to sing His praises and express our thankfulness to Him for all His gifts to us. This includes not only all the gifts of life and health and provision from the week, but also the gifts of forgiveness for our sins, the grace of making us His children through faith in Jesus, and for His unfailing and unconditional love.

Today's Devotional
"WORSHIP"
"WORSHIP"
"Yet the time is
coming and has now come
when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth,
for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks."
when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth,
for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks."
John 4:23
I have personally known more than one person who has left a church to seek
another because the church "wasn't meeting their needs." So,
what is the reason we are to go to church? I think there are two main
reasons.
The second reason to come to church is to learn more about the example of Jesus
and to follow in His steps. This means we learn how to be servants -- to
meet the needs of others, not ourselves. We don't come to church to
"meet our own needs" (although God certainly does that through His
Word and sacraments), but to find ways to go out into the communities in which
we live to serve others. We are the hands and feet and voice of God in
this world. Worship God every day by the way you live your life doing His
will.
