Good Morning,
Today I have the pleasure of introducing a new member of our WFM Writing Staff, Karen Bennett. She is from Arizona, and writes for her church paper...prayers and poems. Welcome Karen!!
Today's Writing is by Karen and is titled, "Prayer~God of All Mercy." The theme of this writing is the salvation bought for us by Jesus. Here is part of what has been written. "As we reflect, may we endeavor to overcome many things. When we fast, let us fast from judging others and from anger and hatred, bitterness and resentment, and all things that separate our minds and hearts from You. Help us concentrate on Your love and mercy, sharing them with all those with whom we've had issues."
{This is great food for thought and many reasons to be thankful. CM}
God bless

Today's Devotional
"Prayer~God of All Mercy"
We are now in the Lenten season, a time for great reflection and deep meditation as we are brought face to face with the magnitude and multitude of our sins. We study the sufferings and death of Your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus, and the result of the sin of the world - our sin, being placed on Him. You sent Him to make that ultimate sacrifice out of love for us, and out of love for us, He willingly obeyed.
Lent is a very humbling time. You save us from the consequences of our sin. We are not worthy, yet you say the word and we are healed. We are spared the horror of paying for our sins, because Christ has already done so for us. He paid dearly, with His life's blood, so that we would be welcomed into Your kingdom by You, with a joyous greeting such as the prodigal son received.
Through this Lenten period, help us reflect on all that Jesus suffered to save us from our sins. Let us be humble and gentle as He is and help us forgive and love as He does. May we hold no sin in our hearts, but confess them all to You. Give us the will and determination to share this with others, that they may also receive Your wonderful gift of salvation. A truly repentant soul is a completely forgiven soul.
As we reflect, may we endeavor to overcome many things. When we fast, let us fast from judging others and from anger and hatred, bitterness and resentment, and all things that separate our minds and hearts from You. Help us concentrate on Your love and mercy, sharing them with all those with whom we've had issues.
Father, we were lost, but through the faith given to us by the wonderful power of Your Holy Spirit, we are found!
We believe, Father! We believe!
In Jesus' name. Amen.
