Friday Writing by Karen Bennett......2/17/17

Good Morning,

Today's writing is a cooperation by Karen Bennett and Corinne Mustafa based on Karen's poem "Brave Souls." Karen's theme is that it takes brave souls to march in the army of God to be His hands, feet, and voices. Karen wrote, "They go off to places they're needed to spread the good news of God's son." Corinne wrote, "We both pray that you will find your own personal way to become the hands, feet, and voice of God to work for the benefit of God's people!

 "Brave Souls"

The world needs Christ so badly,
Yet so few will answer His call. 
So many are left, so sadly,
The order seeming way too tall.

But there are those brave souls who love 
And the challenges are ready to face.
Their calling has truly come from above
And they are ready to run the race!

So off they go to places they're needed
To spread the good news of God's Son.
Praying their words and actions are heeded
And new converts for Christ will be won!

Oh brave souls, for you I pray
To find receptive hearts to teach. 
God keep you safe and show you the way
To those His love through you will reach.

This poem illustrates the lives of many people who are willing to go out and do God's work and bidding. This is not something that everyone feels called to do personally. However many find other ways to reach out to others. Some come alongside when they see a need with a random act of kindness or a donation to a cause.

Others feel called to personally run the race for what God is calling them to do. This can be ministry in their own town or other activities such as volunteering in a food service to homeless, or working in schools as a volunteer to give help to children in need of extra help and attention. Some people travel the world as missionaries to help in a place where life is challenging. In our church there are three young women out of the country as missionaries. One is in the Philippines, and the other two are in Uganda. 

These girls and millions of men and women like them around the world never hesitate to sacrifice their lives and time to help. They know that the need is so great. They also know that God is asking them to tell the people they serve about His Son. They will spend years in one area or will move around as need arises. Sometimes whole families are missionaries. We have a family in our church who are in Chad with four children.

We must pray for those people who go the extra mile that they would be blessed in their work and be given courage to continue in their willingness to be the hands and feel of God.

This is all about "BRAVE SOULS"
