Women's Focus Ministries

We are a group of Christian women (and one man) who write daily devotionals and other articles of interest to women.
We publish daily. Praying that you will enjoy this ministry.

Thank you and God bless,
Corinne Mustafa.......and the Writing Staff of "WFM"

One of our writers is writing a novel, called AFTER THE EVENT, that is published Saturdays separately from the daily posts. There is a link on the left side that will take you to the blog of the novel which is being posted in installments.

Tuesday Writing......10/25/16

Good morning,

The title of the devotional today is "Kindness." It was written by Diane Sutton. As you will see by the 24 times the word kindness is written here that this attribute is is the theme of her devotional. it is a very important habit for us to develop. It is something that make the person who is the recipient feel as good as the person who does the act of kindness. Diane wrote, "Let us act in kindness every day. Ask God each morning how you can show His Kindness to someone in a new or creative way. Ask God to open your eyes and ears so you will not miss an opportunity to display kindness."

Have a Tuesday filled with kindness!
God bless,
Corinne & Diane

Kindness

Colossians 3:12 states as God’s chosen people, we are to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Galatians 5:22-23 states that kindness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.

In Jeremiah the Lord declares “I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight.” God says “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”

As we are drawn closer to God and transformed by the Spirit through obedience, we will take on the characteristics of Jesus. Kindness will be in our heart and out of the condition of our heart we will show others the same kindness that God has shown us. Kindness is a way through which God’s light shines to others, drawing them in to experience His love.

If God asked us today to account for an act of kindness how would we be able to respond?

Let us consider how we can show kindness to others, especially those who have yet to know the loving kindness of our Lord.

Let us not underestimate the power of kindness shown in a smile, a kind word or a helpful gesture. Cooking meals for a family who are grieving or ill is kindness. Paying a month’s rent for a widow is kindness. Offering to drive an elderly neighbor to the doctor appointment is kindness. Saying words of empathy to someone who is hurting is kindness. Stopping what you are doing to pray for a friend over the phone is kindness. Writing a note of encouragement is kindness.

Acts 14:17 says, “Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”

Job says that God shows us kindness and anyone who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

Romans 2:4 states that God’s kindness is intended to lead us to repentance. A simple act of kindness toward others opens the door to the beginning of a relationship with Jesus. Repeated kindness defuses anger, hurts and disappointment. Kindness is like a salve which will soften a person’s heart when applied consistently over time.

Let us act in kindness every day. Ask God each morning how you can show His Kindness to someone in a new or creative way. Ask God to open your eyes and ears so you will not miss an opportunity to display kindness.  Let us be grateful for the kindness that the Lord has shown us so we in turn can do the same for others.
