Good Morning,
Today's writing is by Cathy Friberg. Cathy sends a writing every month, and her writing is always quite insiteful. Today the theme is about seasons in nature as in our lives. Some seasons are such that we skate through with easiness, while others are such that we feel that there are challenges and are not so easy to navigate. "Autumn" stands for a season that is not very challenging, while it is followed by "winter" that has challenges of its own for us to navigate. Cathy investigates the roads upon which we travel in easy and difficult seasons, Cathy wrote, "We can also rest in the knowledge that the next chapter of our lives, despite its disposition, will assuredly carry with it the power and presence of a loving Father who has our best interest at heart."
May we all step into the place where we can trust Him to be our protector

A
SEASON OF TRUST
Fall, ahhh, glorious fall! How many times have I explored this
theme in my WFM entries? Please indulge me once again as I embrace this
magnificent time of year. I am always captivated with autumn's keen and
brilliant colors. The spicy aromas and comforting tastes of harvest time food
and drink enchant my senses. Perfect temperatures, rich hues, and a refreshing
crispness in the air bring a heady contentment to my soul.
It seems that God manifests His golden splendor in familiar yet
ever changing ways with each new fall season. There are many pleasant surprises
as we explore our local landscapes. We see the Lord's creative touch in our
home decor and in new autumn handiwork in boutiques about the town.
Yet, for all its earthly qualities, what might be the spiritual significance of fall? As with all new seasons, autumn brings
change. Yet, it is a unique shift. As welcome as this time of year is, with its
beauty and bliss, we have a foreboding sense that we are soon heading into
winter. It is like the initial climb of a roller coaster. We embark on this
experience with delight. Joy arises as we transition from the heat and dryness
of the end of summer. Still, a tension steals in as we realize that the descent
into a long and perhaps dreary winter is just ahead of us.
As in the pleasant autumn cycle, when we are in a period of grace
and blessing in our lives, we sometimes begin to fear that trials and
tribulations may lie ahead. At such times it takes wisdom and discipline to keep
our minds and hearts focused the Lord. As we praise Him for our present
blessings we can be assured that He will carry us safely into and through our
future seasons. No matter what lies ahead we have an anchor of earthly as well
as eternal security.
Jesus is our rock and fortress.
(Psalm 18:2)
He
will never leave us or forsake us.
(Hebrews 13:5)
His Spirit brings us
peace and joy despite any negative
external circumstances in our lives.
The
Kingdom of heaven is within us.
(Luke17:21)
We need not fear a spiritual
"winter" in our lives as our Heavenly Father is ever present to lead
us and guide us. He will always comfort and shelter us under the shadow of His
wings until any storm has passed.
We can most certainly enjoy our times of refreshing,
contentment, and blessing. We can also rest in the knowledge that the
next chapter of our lives, despite its disposition, will assuredly carry
with it the power and presence of a loving Father who has our best interest at
heart.
Let us remember to seek God's face and draw close to Him with a
pure heart. Let us trust in His work on the cross to provide for
our protection, provision, healing, and deliverance in any and every
season of our journey on this earth.
