Good Morning,
New Living Translation
New Living Translation
Kelly Dobyns wrote today's devotional, entitled "Keeping the Faith." The theme of her writing is trying to stay on track when you have issues and worries and to keep the faith with your eyes on God. Kelly wrote, "When I feel the enemy creeping in with the wrong sets of thoughts I will turn it around to gratefulness and walking in faith. It is the only way I will survive this crazy world we are living in right now; Keeping the faith of the Lord forever in my mind."
Last Day of the Week...Friday. Get ready for the weekend.
God bless,

Keeping the Faith
I am really having a hard time lately with letting go…..I
have my moments of doing well at it, however, for the most part, I am
completely taking back the control from God to do His will. Even when I am not aware of it, in the
back of my mind worrying about either what I have done with my life or what I
will do with my life. I can’t seem to
stay in the moment and simply just enjoy it as He asks us to do.
“But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Isaiah 43:18-19
New Living Translation
(NLT)
It is truly so simple….but, yet so hard, as humans we worry
too much about what others think, or at least I have most of my life. I worry about what I have done or how I
should have done things differently. I
worry about how I will do things currently and in the future. I want to make all the right decisions, as I
feel that I have made some horribly bad ones in the past. The reality is that I
have not made any bad decisions. The
only bad choices made by me are the ones in which I turned my back on God. Or, I forgot to turn my decision making over
to God. There are always challenges and
very hard days for everyone, no matter what the decisions we have made;
however, what we must keep in the forefront of our minds is that God is here
with us every moment. He is here through
it all, right in our heart and in our minds when we keep Him there. Just as the scriptures states.
So
be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them.
For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you.
He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you.
He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6
New Living Translation
(NLT)
I truly need to keep this scripture to heart. I have awakened a couple of times in recent
months…in a very bad panic….a fear like I have never had. It is really kind of strange as things are
going really well in my life, I think a lot of it is my age, which had been a
really challenge adjusting to this season of my life. I never ever thought it would be so hard to
be alone, but, guess what, alone means spending much more time with my
thoughts….thoughts that often times are too negative. So from here on out, my plan is to turn those
thoughts around. Pray much more often. And always, always, keep my Lord about all
else. When I feel the enemy creeping in
with the wrong sets of thoughts I will turn it around to gratefulness and
walking in faith. It is the only way I
will survive this crazy world we are living in right now; Keeping the faith of
the Lord forever in my mind.
I always have to remind myself that even if I have temporarily turned my back on God or not asked for his direction, God can still use it for good in the long run when we turn back to him. He is awesome that way!
