Thursday Devotional...8/18/16

Good Morning...

We got back yesterday from our three day Road trip. It was great. We drove up that rural road that Storm's grandfather worked on when he was a young man. The houses were sparse and widely scattered along the road, What a different life style these people must lead. On Tuesday morning we went down to the ocean where Bar Harbor is. Arcadia National Park is there and we explored that for most of the day. In the middle of it is Cadillac Mountain that is not high, but,  when you drive up to the summit, the vistas are amazing!  There are views of the ocean dotted with small islands. God's hand was visible everywhere you looked. After we drove down we went to something called Thunder Hole. At high tide the water rushes in between high rocks and makes a sound like loud thunder when it hits the end. Then it gushes back out waiting for the next wave. It was low tide so the sound was not as loud, but it is an amazing nonetheless.

We stayed in a duplex cottage over night. It was darling. We were sitting out on the porch when our neighbors from the other unit arrived. They were a lovely amish couple, with a beard for the husband and a bonnet and long dress on the wife. They had a beautiful baby dressed in dark overhauls and a blue shirt. We talked to them for a while and they were delightful young. The dad was re shoeing the horses at a  large stables that offered buggy rides.

Experiences like these leave people with wonderful memories.

Have a fun filled Thursday.
God bless
Corinne

Today's devotional is called, "Savior Who is There to Save You" and is co written by Brother Thomas Ukwute and Jody Ward. It is based on Zephaniah 3:15-17, 19-20. The theme is that God is always there to forgive His people and bring them back to Him in time. Jody wrote, "The God of heaven will chase out your enemy and you will see evil no more for your God is mighty, He will save and rejoice over you again with unspeakable blessings and victory."

Savior Who is There to Save You.
        STILL TRUE NOW

For then it will be that the Lord has reversed his judgement against you and taken away your punishment. He has turned back your enemies, cleared them away and sent them chasing their own tails.

The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you, in the midst of your life. And after He comes to you, you will not suffer from fear or experience evil any more. Never again will you see the terror and dread of harm and disaster over your life.

On that day, they will say to the Lord’s chosen in the Holy City, do not despair and do not be afraid, dear Zion. Do not let fear paralyze you so that you lose your strength and your hands become listless and fall limp.

The Lord your God is present, right with you, a strong and victorious warrior. He is the Mighty One, a Savior who is there to save you.

He will take great delight in you, He will rejoice over you with joy. He will rest in silent satisfaction and in His love, He will no longer rebuke you or make mention of past sins. He will calm you with His love and rejoice over you with singing and even shouts of joy.

“Then just watch,” says the Lord. “I will deal with all those who oppress you and afflict you. I will get rid of them for you and then the accumulated sorrows and misery of your exile will dissipate like a fog.

I will rescue the wounded who limp and are lame. I will save the maimed who can not stand straight and walk. I will gather the exiles, the outcasts and the homeless. I will make sure they get fame and honor in the lands that put them to shame and I will turn their shame into praise and renown in all the earth.

At that time, I will gather you and bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among the peoples of the earth. I will make your name a praise among the nations and reverse your captivity, right before your very eyes. I will bring restoration, and it will be a reunion where the painful separations of captivity are wiped out,” says the Lord.

Zephaniah 3:15-17, 19-20

You may have seen and heard things that had made you question the validity of your faith. You may have gone through experiences that had deeply challenged your faith to the point of almost doubting if God is still with you. You may have encountered one failure and disappointment after another, making you want to give up on God.

Hear this and be encouraged. You will sing and rejoice again in the Lord your God. The God of heaven will chase out your enemy and you will see evil no more for your God is mighty, He will save and rejoice over you again with unspeakable blessings and victory.

He will undo your affliction and remove your shame. He will make you a name and a praise among the people because He who designed your destiny will turn back your captivity before your eyes and bring to pass His purposes for your life.

Be strong in the Lord, trust in Him for it will soon be accomplished and it will be victory in your favor.
