We are a group of Christian women (and one man) who write daily devotionals and other articles of interest to women.
We publish daily. Praying that you will enjoy this ministry.

Thank you and God bless,

One of our writers is writing a novel, called AFTER THE EVENT, that is published Saturdays separately from the daily posts. There is a link on the left side that will take you to the blog of the novel which is being posted in installments.

Thursday Writings........6/7/16

Good morning...

Today I went to the gym for my aquatics exercise for people with Arthritis. The water is warn and all us folks with Arthritis went through the directed activities in a way that would not harm our malady. I looked around and wondered how I got to this point. I got an email from my college roommate to me and a mutual friend. She said that whenever she thinks of us we are all 18 years old. In our own minds we still feel like we did back then...though hopefully a bit more mature.

Hope your Thursday is one for which you can be thankful.

God bless from
Corinne

The Devotional component in the Friday Writings of Women's Focus Ministries is titled, "Trust in Him" and was co-written by Brother Thomas Ukwute and Jody Ward. In this devotional Brother Thomas quotes Luke 8:23 - 25 and the rest pf the descriptions which reminds us to trust Jesus not only the calming of storms but also to take care of other issues we all face in our lives. Jody wrote, "I will tell you what I know of Him. He heals sickness, calms storms, gives victories, forgives sins, restores broken lives, fills the broken hearted with peace and hope, rebuilds destinies, puts smiles on faces, gives sight to the blind and hearing to the deaf. That is what manner of man Jesus is."

"Trust in Him"
co-written by

While He and the disciples were sailing across the lake, Jesus went to lie down and fell deeply asleep. While He was sleeping, a fierce storm descended on the lake and a strong wind began to rise, sweeping waves over them. Water poured in and the boat began to fill, nearly swamping them. They were in great danger.

The disciples rushed over and woke Jesus, shouting, “Master, Master, we are sinking and are going to perish. We are drowning and going to die!”

Jesus got up and gave a command to the wind and the waves, rebuking and reprimanding the chaos of the storm. “Silence!” He told the wind. “Quiet down!” He told the waves, and they did it. The violent wind stopped and the raging waves ceased. The storm stopped and all was calm.

Then Jesus turned to His disciples.  “Where is your faith? Why can’t you trust Me?” He asked. “Where is your confidence in Me?”

His followers were afraid and astonished, terrified and amazed at the same time. In awe, they staggered and stammered, “Who is this, that when He gives a command, even the wind and the waves obey Him?” They kept asking one another, “What kind of man is this that even the storm and the sea listens does what He tells them?”

Luke 8.23-25

When things don't go the way you expected, who do you call upon for help?

Remember, He has the whole world, and your whole world, in His hands. No matter what situation you encounter, He has the answer if you call upon Him.

Call upon Him in your day of trouble and He will answer you, He will show you great and mighty things you have not known before and cannot imagine. He is a trusted friend who cannot abandon you in the midst of storms.

The disciples asked, “What manner of man is this Jesus?”

I will tell you what I know of Him. He heals sickness, calms storms, gives victories, forgives sins, restores broken lives, fills the broken hearted with peace and hope, rebuilds destinies, puts smiles on faces, gives sight to the blind and hearing to the deaf. That is what manner of man Jesus is.

There is nothing too hard for Him. Call on Him, put your trust in Him and He will not disappoint you.

   Prayer for Trust
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever!
Amen.

   Today's Inspiring Graphic

You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Psalm 139:1-6

Should you ever compare yourself to another when you are the creation of the living God? He never makes mistakes or makes junk. You are uniquely you and there is no one better than you. You are God's diamond, brilliant and lovely.

Snippets of Spiritual Insights  from Beverley

The crash of the waves. Beautiful from the shore. Terrifying when you're out on the rocks. When you can't hold on. When the crashing drowns out all else. When the rise of hope inside you is deafened. Still you're not alone. This is when our saving is not dependent on our ability to hold on but rather on the Lord's ability. To hold onto us
