Good Morning.
The writing today talks about the fact that people pretend to put God first. However, they are pretending and are actually neither hot or cold. Carol wrote, " God expects us to love Him above all else. Loving Him this way will motivate us to be "hot" in our devotion and service to Him and our neighbors -- to be examples of faith and lights in this dark world. God does not need lukewarm pretenders in His church."
Hopefully we will all choose to let our lukewarm pretending change and heat up.

Have a blessed weekend.

"PRETENDING"

"I know your
deeds,
that you are neither cold nor hot.
I wish you were either one or the other!
So, because you are lukewarm -- neither hot nor cold --
I am about to spit you out of my mouth."
Revelation 3:15, 16
I wish you were either one or the other!
So, because you are lukewarm -- neither hot nor cold --
I am about to spit you out of my mouth."
Revelation 3:15, 16
This passage from
Revelation is rather difficult to comprehend. I have to give it the term
"pretending." What God is warning the church about is that people
have forsaken their first love -- God. There are a lot of pretenders out
there in our churches. They may attend church for an hour every Sunday
but live the rest of the time just like the world without God. They
"pretend" to know God but don't read their Bibles, do not support
the church or missions, and turn a blind eye to their neighbor's needs.
They are not living out their faith in their daily lives as God expects them
to. God expects us to love Him above all else. Loving Him this way
will motivate us to be "hot" in our devotion and service to Him and
our neighbors -- to be examples of faith and lights in this dark world.
God does not need lukewarm pretenders in His church.
