Good Morning,
The writing today is filled with the back and forth consideration of whether the customs we have lost were worthy of lament or whether the loss should be celebrated with joy. In the end we find the decision is that we can say good riddance to customs that we should not want to keep. Here is a quote from this writing, "The problem is that we have become blinded to the way our culture thinks and choices are affected by wanting to be like everyone else. We have lost what we think we were blessed by. Many of us have forgotten we have not lost the real reason for life, Who is God."
God could be doing a new thing as he brings us through this challenging time. Let's wait for it!
Blessings,
Corinne Mustafa

"LOSS OF CUSTOMS"
"LOSS OF CUSTOMS"

When I started framing out an idea for tonight's blog my plan was totally different. I was thinking about how much totally we have lost as the Corona-virus has been tromping the world over in a march to spread its fatal soldiers in an attempt for world conquest. So far, the winners are not declared. We must not drop our weapons. In this war we have lost all the things that we think of as life.
- we cannot go to church except for streaming online
- we are to "shelter in place" which means we cannot let anyone bur the people who live in our house come inside
- we need to keep a distance of six feet between ourselves and another person
- we need to wear face masks to save others from our germs to save us from their germs
- we must not touch our mouths, our noses, or our eyes (the germs will get us and kill us)
- we cannot go shopping for the latest fashions, and anyway, where would we wear them?
The problem is that we have become blinded to the way our culture thinks and choices are affected by wanting to be like everyone else. We have lost what we think we were blessed by. Many of us have forgotten we have not lost the real reason for life, Who is God.
This scripture tells us what we need to do and how to do it.
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to
your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control,
to self-control [d]perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8
For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither
barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9
For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness,
and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
