Monthly Writing for April...4/1/20..."A MIGHTY FORTRESS"

Today's writing is shared by Cathy Friberg who writes at the beginning of every month.

 The writing  is called, "A MIGHTY FORTRESS." Cathy points out several scriptures that show our belief that God is our rock.

Here is a quote from this writing..."As we learn God's ways, follow His paths, and obey His word, we need not fear. Our Lord, our Rock, will shelter and protect us. No weapon formed against us will prosper. Instead, we will prosper and go forth." 

Yes, He truly is a powerful rock on Whom we can stand!

A  MIGHTY FORTRESS

There are many scriptures which refer to God as our Rock.
      

       for instance...

“The Lord is my rock and

 my fortress and my deliverer; 

My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge…." 

2 Samuel 22:2-3  

        and...
 

"My honor and salvation come from God. 

He is my mighty rock and my protection. 

People, trust God all the time." 

Psalm 62:7-8  

The connotation here is that God is immovable, strong, and unshakable, and that we can have full confidence in Him. 

As we lean on the Lord, depend on Him, and put our trust in Him we have a wonderful source of strength and security.  We are presently encountering  a time on this earth when it seems that "everything which can be shaken, is being shaken." However, as we unite ourselves to The Father and His son, Jesus, we will continue to stand firm and be victorious. 

Jesus told a parable about a man who built his house on rock. When the storms beat upon that house it was not destroyed. We too will not be consumed by the tempest we face if we have built our foundation on the Rock, Jesus Christ. 

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine 

and puts them into practice is like a wise man 

who built his house on the rock. 

The rain came down, the streams rose, 

                    and the winds blew and beat against that house;it did not fMatthew 7:24-25

As we learn God's ways, follow His paths, and obey His word, we need not fear. Our Lord, our Rock, will shelter and protect us. No weapon formed against us will prosper. Instead, we will prosper and go forth. We will minister, serve, and bless a world which is longing for the peace and security of our loving Savior.
