Monday Writing...2/17/20..."The Walk"

Good Morning

The writing for today talks about the path a person walks in the midst of temptation, weakness, and snares they face daily. However. God is on our side strengthening us to chose well. Karen wrote, "We belong to the one who overcame the world. The Lord keeps us encouraged and at peace. We don’t need to throw our hands up in despair. We need to fold them and pray in repentance and gratitude for God’s great love and His gift of salvation to us."

He blesses and uplifts us at every turn.

Have a blessed weekend.

Karen Bennett passed away Sunday just after midnight. She was an awesome woman of God whose writings have blessed all who have read them. Her illness was terminal and beyond painful. She prayed to the Lord to go home, and today her prayers were answered. Praise the Lord. Please pray for her adult children Dorsey, Cary, Courtney, Karen's entire family who loved her immensely and all of her friends.

I loved her as well. God bless, Corinne Mustafa

"The Walk"
Written by
Karen Bennett

The more we strive to walk life’s path with our Lord, the easier it should become. This, however, is not always the case. When we commit ourselves to God, the devil seems to take it as a challenge and assaults us at every bend in the path with more determination than ever. His best and most evil ploys are for devout believers in Christ, because he doesn’t have to work that hard on those he feels are already his. He’s already got a pretty good foothold with them, but he puts in overtime hours on all the true believers.

There are all those times we succumb to his temptations. Some are so subtle, we’ve sinned before we even realize it. We all have our weaknesses, and he knows them well, but do remember that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. It’s God’s strength in which we live!

"But He said to me,
‘My grace is sufficient for you,
for my power is made perfect
in weakness’.”
2 Corinthians 12:9a.

Paul begged the Lord three times to remove the thorn placed in his side to avoid conceit, and received that answer. Paul then said he would boast all the more gladly about his weakness so Christ’s power could rest on him.

We too, are strengthened with power through the Spirit in our inner beings so Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith.
“I can do everything through Him
who gives me strength.”
Philippians 4:13.

We will fall, but the evil spirits of the world have no power over God. In fact, they’re terrified of Him. Jesus took away the power of death and the devil through His death on the cross and His resurrection. Satan knows his days are numbered, so he’s out to snare as many people away from God as he can out of vengeance.
We have God on our side. He forgives our sins and forgets them when we sincerely repent, rendering the devil powerless every time, frustrating him again and again. You would think that nasty old devil would give up, but he is too consumed by hate for God and us, making him unable to. He can’t get us away from the power of God, however. We belong to the one who overcame the world. The Lord keeps us encouraged and at peace. We don’t need to throw our hands up in despair. We need to fold them and pray in repentance and gratitude for God’s great love and His gift of salvation to us.
“I trust in Your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me.”
Psalm 13:5-6.

Lord Jesus, we thank You with overflowing hearts for Your great sacrifice. You saved us from the devil’s snare and You help us walk this temporal path. We could not get through it without Your power made perfect in our weakness. Thank You for indwelling us, as we know You are far greater than he who is in the world! It’s in your name we pray. Amen.
