Saturday Writing...1/25/20..."Happiness"

Good Morning,

For Saturday the writing is about happiness and being blessed. The only true happiness is found in a relationship with God. Carol wrote, "True happiness can only be found in God and having a relationship with Him." 

Start relating to God, and you will find a wonderful Friend and happiness!

Today's Devotional 

"HAPPINESS"

"...blessed are the people whose God is the Lord." 

Psalm 144:15b

In this Psalm, as with some other passages of Scripture, the word blessed can also be used as the word happy.  God our heavenly Father wants to give us as His children all that we need in life so we will find contentment and happiness.  

His Ten Commandments were not given to create problems for us but rather to make our lives go smoothly.  People today are not finding happiness because they are looking for it in all the wrong places. 

Lasting happiness cannot be found in material possessions, money, other people, outward appearance, power, or prestige.  All of these things are transitory. True happiness can only be found in God and having a relationship with Him.  

St. Augustine once aptly put it in his confessions: 

"...for Thou madest us for Thyself, 

and our heart is restless, 

until it reposes in Thee."
