Good morning,
In today's writing Corinne Mustafa took a graphic of a worldly list of affirmations for living in harmony and rewrote some of them with a Godly slant. God is the author of all things that we believe which regulate our lives. Corinne wrote, "I decided to create my own list of Christian affirmations to replace the worldly ones here. These affirmations are right on."
It is hoped that the explanations provide good food for thought.
God bless
Corinne

CHRISTIAN AFFIRMATIONS
FOR LIVING IN HARMONY
When I first saw this collection I though..."how cool"...we all need guidelines about how to live in harmony, I only read the name of this collection and saved the graphic to use here. I uploaded the graphic and proceeded to read some of the affirmations. To my shock the things listed had no relationship to how we as Christians should look at reasons to live in harmony. It was kind of new age in philosophy So I decided to create my own list of Christian affirmations to replace the worldly ones here. Some of these affirmations are right on; some are not. The red ones are good for everyone when read with a Godly slant. The purple ones are the ones that I felt needed to be tweaked.
1. I am grateful to be alive.
I am grateful to God for my life and to be alive so that I can serve Him and be His too and to accomplish things that he chose me to do.
1. I AM giving attention to what really matters.
3. I choose to be a humble servant.
4. I am feeling immense gratitude.
5. Joy is my natural state.
Joy is something that we should hang onto all the time. Joy is not happiness. However, even when things are not going the way we hope, we can be joyful for all God has provided for us...especially the promise of eternity.
6. The universe gives me everything I desire.
God gives me gifts and blessings, but some things I will never receive according to His plan. Sometimes I receive something that He has ordained for me according to His wisdom about what I really need.
7. I enjoy being present.
Well I am wondering what the opposite of present is. 1) Could it be a jail sentence? 2) Could it be a mental illness? 3)Could it be mourning over someone's death? 4) Or could it be our own death which takes our presence away from all we have known? Except for the fourth one the others could be so hurtful or distracting that a person is in some kind of fog. Still it is good to know that when suffering with these of any number of issues we have God is by our side using it for our refining. Then we come to the fourth one where we have reached the end of life. Sometimes we fear the unknown and finality of death; we want to hand around longer to see what will happen next in our family. etc. The important thing is what lies ahead of us when we reach the end of our time on earth. WOW!!!
We should appreciate ourselves based on the idea that "God did not make any Junk." Sometimes we suffer from low self esteem and should keep that quote in mind.
16. My will is aligned with the Father,
And that’s about it, friends.
Be cheerful. Keep things in good repair.
Keep your spirits up. Think in harmony. Be agreeable.
Do all that, and the God of love and peace will be with you for sure.
Greet one another with a holy embrace.
All the brothers and sisters here say hello.
