We all have had struggles of varying degrees in our lives.  Today's writing, "SUCH A TIME," discusses these seasons and why we might need to experience them.

"SUCH A TIME"

There are times when we may wonder why in the world we have been led to where we are in life.  Some of us might struggle to get out of bed every morning to face the day.  We may have difficulties at work with others around or over us, or at home with the responsibilities of expenses or caring for others.  At other times the difficulties we face could be within ourselves like health issues, aging problems, or addiction struggles.  Perhaps we aren’t even obviously struggling but simply at a loss of what our purpose is.  Even when we know what God expects of us, we may feel inadequate or unqualified to carry that out in our current situation or location.  We can see others struggling but maybe don’t know how to help them, or when we try to help they refuse or say that isn’t what they truly need.  It can be so bad that they turn on us and attack us in spite of our honorable intentions.  Perhaps our hearts are also breaking seeing how others are being treated, whether they are people we know and love or just other human beings who deserve better.  Life can be such a time of struggle.

Wherever you are in life right now you can be used by God.  That may be hard to hear, especially if you are one who is wrestling with life.  There are many things you may not understand while in the midst of the battle.  God will give you what you need to make it through if you place your trust in Him.  As you are going through the strife, you may be able to grab the hands of others struggling and pull them through with you.  After you get through to the other side, you will be able to provide your unique perspective and testimony to others.  Sometimes you will just plant the seeds and someone else will nurture it further.  But no one else will ever have the exact same experiences you have had and be the same witness that you can be.  Perhaps God has placed you in this situation for such a time as this, in order to help others.

Mordecai said this very thing to his younger cousin and adopted daughter, Esther, a Jewish girl who had become the Persian queen and was therefore uniquely positioned to help save the lives of thousands of Jewish people.  

Esther 4:14b ESV “… who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” 

Whether you know it or not, you have been chosen - you have been called - you have been set apart for such a time as this!  God chose you to be his child and called you to be his witness.  He has set you apart to make a difference in your little corner of the world.  He will give you what you need to carry out his plan, as it has been said, "God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called."  He will provide!

Dear Father in heaven, we thank you for placing us where we are right now in our lives.  Give us the strength and knowledge that we need to pull through what we encounter and to help others along the way.  May we be a bold witness to what You have done through your Son, Jesus Christ, and how faith and trust in You can transform any life!  Help us to remember that You have placed us here for such a time as this.  In Jesus’ name,  Amen.
