Women's Focus Ministries

We are a group of Christian women (and one man) who write daily devotionals and other articles of interest to women.
We publish daily. Praying that you will enjoy this ministry.

Thank you and God bless,
Corinne Mustafa.......and the Writing Staff of "WFM"

One of our writers is writing a novel, called AFTER THE EVENT, that is published Saturdays separately from the daily posts. There is a link on the left side that will take you to the blog of the novel which is being posted in installments.

Wednesday Writing...5/22/19..."Two Sides"

Good Morning,

The writing today is concerned with the occurrence of different needs and different opinions when two people have conflicting requirements or opinions. It can result in one or both being hurt. Here is a quote from this writing, "There are two people who care for each other. Both had an issue and need. The needs were opposite for each of these people. Both felt that they could not meet the requests of the other and they thought that the other should understand."

Lets attempt to be more understanding and sympathetic to others.
Have a blessed day

Today's Devotional

"Two Sides"

Written by
Corinne Mustafa

Today I find myself in a very disturbing conundrum. As I look at the details of it I find myself wondering what is right and what is right. I have been quite ill for several months due to a fall in December that has rendered me in pain with a dislocated shoulder and in a place where the responsibilities caused by trying to carry on with my life are a challenge. I am much slower at getting things completed. I find myself nervous and with less confidence than I had before the fall. I understand what is happening and reflect on the lesson given in this valley has brought me from God.
In the meantime I have a friend who is going through her own valley due back surgery and infections and complications from the surgery. She has had two long stays in the hospital. I knew that she was unable to stay home alone, and I volunteered to come to spend a day with her. My heart really wanted to do this, She lives more than an hour away, and I should not be making that trip. From the moment I offered I kept having doubts about doing it. Today I told her that I could not do it because of my own challenges. I could tell that she was upset.

Scripture tells us...

For I am overwhelmed and desperate,
and you alone know which way I ought to turn

to miss the traps my enemies have set for me.
Psalm 142:3

In this case there aren't any traps. Nor are there are any enemies. There are two people who care for each other. Both had an issue and need. The needs were opposite for each of these people. Both felt that they could not meet the requests of the other, and they thought that the other should understand.

The word says...
Give generously,
for your gifts will return to you later.
Ecclesiastes 11:1

What is the lesson here?

It is important to consider carefully and make a decision about a choice being considered. Generosity is laudable. Still people should pray about the choice and give their answer before both end up heartbroken.

Lord,
Forgive me for my actions that have caused other's pain. Please help me to plan ahead and not set out on a path that leads me to an impossible situation...one that will hurt a person that I care about. May I look at every
situation carefully and make the choice that
will please you as well.
Amen
