Tuesday Writing....4/2/19..."Strong Relationships Are A Good Thing"

Good Morning,

The writing today talks about the human need for friends and friendships. The most important Friendship is with God. Plus, the most edifying thing is that God considers us as His friends as well. Sandy Billingham wrote, "As we cultivate our relationship  with Christ, we will develop a strong bonding and will experience His greatness  and intimacy. And we shall  be assured and convinced that it is a wonderful, eternal and good  thing!!

Intimate With Jesus,

"Strong Relationships Are A Good Thing"
Written by

My husband and I watched the movie "Miss  Congeniality" at  home last night. Maybe some of you have seen it and remember it. Sandra  Bullock  was  the main character who played as a tough and rough (no girly-girl)  undercover FBI Agent. By her fellow co-workers she was nominated to work a job as an undercover agent, staging as 'Miss New Jersey' because she was the only agent that looked good in a swim suit. Sandra was posing as a pageant contestant  in order to uncover a terrorist targeting the event.

Not having any experience as a beauty pageant contestant  what-so-ever or even anything close to  it, a consultant was hired to turn her into a poised  beauty. It was a huge challenge for  the consultant  as  well as for Sandra, the agent. So challenging, that Sandra at one point was  ready to throw in the towel and walk away from the job.

The  consultant tried desperately to convince her to not  give up, and reminded her all the wonderful changes that were taking place and how it would help her develop great relationships. ( I am paraphrasing). She swung around and shouted at him saying, "All I want to do is  work my job 24/7. I don't want any relationships nor need them." But she truly knew deep in her heart that she longed for those relationships.

We all long for deep relationships in our life. No one really wants to live their life without strong relationships, although  they may appear  that  they do. Everyone needs friends!

That brings me to the importance on how much our Heavenly Father longs for us to have a close,  strong,  intimate relationship with  Him.  He awaits patiently for us to come away with Him. That is the best part of His day when His kids come and  hang  out  with Him.  That should be a strong priority in our hearts.  That is to know our Lord more and more  each passing day.  To long for Him and  to thirst after  Him.

I want to  know  Christ- Yes,
to know the power of His resurrection and  participation
in His  suffering, becoming like Him in  His death.
Philippians 3:10

That should be the cry of  our heart  every day.  That  is, to  want to know  Christ.... to know all that He experienced...to know  His heart beat, and to be  like  Him.

As we cultivate our relationship  with Christ, we will develop a strong bonding and will experience His greatness  and intimacy. And we shall  be assured and convinced that it is a wonderful, eternal and good  thing!!
