Monday Writing...12/24/18..."Love Those Christmas Lights"

Good Morning,

Today the writing slants a new "light" on Christmas lighting. She is newly aware of the fact that this use of lights at this particular season points to the fact that Jesus is actually the light of the world. He always was and he always will be now and through eternity. Sandy wrote, "Tonight I will take  in each moment, saturating my heart and mind with the overflow and glow of Jesus, the true living light flooding my very being. Merry Christmas to each of you and and may His Light shine brighter in your hearts this year and years to come!!"

Today's Devotional
"Love Those Christmas Lights"
Written by

Wherever you go throughout the Christmas season, you see lights, lights and more lights!  You can't escape it! And the most awesome thing ever is Christmas AND the lights are celebrated all over the Universe. It is a well celebrated season. Today as I listened to our Pastor preach on Christmas, it really hit home the representation of the lights that are strung up everywhere. The lights point towards the true light that came into this world as a babe and that is Jesus Christ our beautiful Lord and Savior.
This scripture describes it well:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through Him, and without Him
nothing was made that was made. In Him was life,
and the life was the light of men. And the light shines
in the darkness,  and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1:1-5

When Jesus' light comes forth all darkness has to flee. He is our light in our life and His light will always shine until all eternity.

I felt like today was a big revelation for me as far as Christmas lights. I am seeing it for the first time with new eyes. I love it when God does that. And I for one love putting up the Christmas lights, not just on our tree, but all over our house. Not only inside the house but outside in our front yard as well. I am already planning on how I will expand putting more lights in our front yard!

Now I don't see it as just a pretty sight to look at, but now I am viewing each light as a remembrance of Jesus being our light.
Tonight we will be driving around our city enjoying the Christmas lights, but tonight will be a new, fresh experience. Tonight I will take  in each moment, saturating my heart and mind with the overflow and glow of Jesus, the true living light flooding my very being.
Merry Christmas to each of you and and may His Light shine brighter in your hearts this year and years to come!!

Third Day
singing
"JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD"

Quotes written and picture painted by Greg Olson used without his permission.
They are just so perfect for this topic. (C) Greg Olson

"Jesus Christ is the One who gives us true peace and joy, and who turns our darkness into bright light. ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’ (John 8:12) Jesus Christ invites us to step out of a lukewarm religious ‘church-going’ lifestyle to truly KNOWING HIM, living with Him, having intimate fellowship with Him. Then we will experience the light, the life, the joy and the freedom He so longs to give us… The future is not dark and gloomy, but incredibly bright and full of hope! This amazing painting shows how Jesus Christ is full of attention for this world. Many people today think God has forgotten about us, because they see all the suffering in our world. But God is full of attention, for all of us. He knows what is happening and He is thinking always of way to reach us with His eternal love and goodness. If we would only open our hearts and minds for Him, then He could reveal who He is and we would experience His help so much more. ‘For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.’ (2 Chronicles 16:9)"Greg Olson
