Good Morning
Today's Writing has the theme of our being renewed in the interior daily in spite of the fact that we are visibly deteriorating on the outside. Carol wrote, "We would do better in life if we would pay more attention to eternity rather than this temporal life on earth. God doesn't look at our decaying frame but our inner spirit. Concentrate your efforts on daily renewal that counts."
Time to pay attention to what really counts in life.

"Daily Renewal"

"Therefore, we do not lose heart.
Though outwardly
we are wasting away,
yet inwardly we are
being renewed day by day."
II Corinthians 4:16
Our society places extreme emphasis on beauty and youth. Turn on the television and note some of the ads -- face lifts, stomach bands to help lose weight, new skin care products, foods to give new energy and help curb aging, vitamins galore, and a host of other products and procedures.
No one wants to grow or look old. The fact remains, every day we get out of bed we are one day older, one day closer to eternity -- whether we like to admit it or not. The hands of time continue to tick away.
The above Scripture passage focuses on a different kind of renewal. We are renewed in our inner selves, our spirits, daily as we walk our journey through life with God. With God's Word, participation in the sacraments, fervent and continual prayer, we are being inwardly renewed and are growing in the grace of God.
No matter what you do, some day you will get old and die. We would do better in life if we would pay more attention to eternity rather than this temporal life on earth. God doesn't look at our decaying frame but our inner spirit. Concentrate your efforts on daily renewal that counts.
