Saturday Writing...7/14/18..."CONSECRATED WEAKNESS"

Good Morning,

Today the theme of weakness as a virtue to be cherished is the topic. Scripture is given that says that in our weaknesses Christ's power is found. Carol wrote, "God doesn't want servants who go it alone but those who know they are totally dependent on Him.......God can use us for His purposes only if we recognize truly who we are and yield to His molding us to be His vessels for service in His Kingdom. It is not by our might that we accomplish His will but in our weaknesses by His power."

Reminding ourselves that weaknesses are a tool of God.

Today's Devotional

"CONSECRATED WEAKNESS"
by Carol Steficek

"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for
you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly
about my weaknesses, so that Christ's
 power may rest on me.'"
I Corinthians 12:9,10

No one likes the feeling of being weak.  We all strive to maintain our independence from the cradle to the grave.  The little child, just learning to do things for himself will, if mother tries to help, pull away and say, "No, me do it.!"

The older person living alone will frequently be in need of help but will not ask.  Sometimes the situation can even be dangerous and yet they think they are managing just fine.

Paul had some infirmity which we do not exactly know and he desperately wanted to be rid of it.  He prayed three times for God to remove it and finally had to be content with the answer as quoted in the Scripture above.

What about you and me?  We too want to do it ourselves.  We want to be competent and independent persons to serve God and our fellow man.  How do we serve if we are weak?

God doesn't want servants who go it alone but those who know they are totally dependent on Him.  He doesn't judge by strength or ability but by surrender.  God can use us for His purposes only if we recognize truly who we are and yield to His molding us to be His vessels for service in His Kingdom.  It is not by our might that we accomplish His will but in our weaknesses by His power.

God teaches us great wisdom in how to lean on Him
in our weakness. Then He shows us how to understand it
and confront it by how He taught us to  lean on Him.
