Thursday Writing..."YOUR STORY MATTERS! Tell it!".......7/20/17

Good morning,

On a recent Sunday the messagewas very impactful. We had a visiting pastor who preached on the importance of telling people your personal story. He pointed out that our stories will impact others when you share what has enlightened and influenced you and brought you to the place where you are at this time. People will listen to another person telling her own story.

Today we are continuing an ongoing page...which usually appears on Wednesdays that gives people an opportunity to bless others with the story of a happening that made a difference in who and where they are at the moment. It is an account that is personal and cannot create contradiction. Today we have two stories that are shared,It is our hope that people who have storis will volunteer to share their stories.

Will you share  your story with us?
You can send it to corinnemustafa@comcast,net

We have two writings today.

This is by Carol Steficek. Carol is the WFM devotional writer for Saturdays. She is living what she asked for her life in this writing.

Carol's Story

I was born a premature baby with serious heart problems.  At that time there were no medical advances to correct this condition so after a month in the hospital the doctors sent me home to die. I survived.

So I have lived a LONG and wonderful life knowing the Lord because of a mother who lived her faith, I have always been a part of the church, and I feel like my life truly belongs to the Lord.  I am not my own. I am so blessed. I pray the Lord will use my life to bless others.

"LORD I GIVE YOU MY HEART"

This is the second piece that I have written. It is a new leading that seems to bringing me me to a new understanding of things that happened which had left me with bitterness. I believe God is leading me forward.

Corinne's Story
~~~~~~~~~~~
July 18th was would have been my father's 97th birthday. I took a side trip during my quiet time remembering him and several stories about him. Here is where that led me as I wrote my  journal for the day.
"This summer I was in Rhode Island and went to the cemetery where my parents are buried. I bought a solar light to put on their grave.I think God had a different plan. The  bird light never made it to Rhode Island, because we forgot it on the table when we left for that day. Finally, it came back with me to Cali where it is mounted in the little side patio by our bedroom.
"It is a solar light that has a yellow bird sitting on the top.  They both loved birds and that is why the yellow bird.  This brings them to mind every time I see it through the patio door when I go into our bedroom. Before this I would go months without thinking of them
due to
 hardships that were close to abuse after I became an adult. They were argumentative
.
S
ometimes they picked on my kids
,
 and I was too chicken to stand up to them
. I
 in what I used to call World War 3 mostly from my mother. My
"These
 memories have spoiled my thoughts of them
.
N
ow that I am older and I hope wiser
,
 I am trying to look at the past in a new way. My parents grew up with their own
childhood demons, and, as that old song go
  is what they'll live by
. People are often in a place where past history becomes powerful and detrimental.
"The painful times
have
 fogged over all the love and wonderful things that they did for me in my childhood days. I never doubted that they
love
. They were always the parents who were willing to drive me and my friends to any extracurricular event we cooked up.
T
.
 The
list goes
on and on.
"Still the resentment existed that seemed to cloud the positive things that they did do. As I wrote I realized that I had been blinded by the bitterness and my own guilt about the issue of my children that I had been unable to do anything about. I believe that all this processing on my part is God inspired...that He is leading me to more healthy thought processes and understandings.
"I am really happy to have that little bird reminder in my side patio. I need to reconsider my feelings about my parents. My job now is to remove the fog over the positive things so that I can see things more clearly. When we cannot forgive we are the losers in the situation - not the offenders. This is a major new understanding for me, and I bet God has more for me to process.
"My plan is to put the "stuff" I have been carrying around into a "bitterness box" so I can bring it out from time to time in order to process further and to forgive and learn.
