Good Morning,

Carol Steficek wrote this reading which she titled, "OUTCOMES." The theme is that God hears you and answers in His time and based on His knowledge of what you need and what he thinks is best for you. Carol wrote, "...we need to look for something great to be sent our way.  It might not be exactly what we wanted or asked for or even expected -- but better!  God only gives good gifts to His children. The outcome may be something amazing!  So wait with expectation and be patient for the outcome."

Take some time this week to think about a way that God answered your prayer and desire that was spectacular and unexpected. Whatever you remember will be a good example in your own life of the love and gifts God gives you.

"OUTCOMES"

"In the morning, O Lord, 

you hear my voice;
In the morning 

I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation."
Psalm 5:3

     

    

   One of the most difficult exercises is praying and then waiting.  We are so used to "immediate" results with everything we do -- from drive through restaurants, to computer searches on the internet, to telephone conversations across continents -- that it is difficult to wait.

     In addition, we pray thinking we know best.  After all, I know what I need so I bring my requests to God figuring He already agrees with me -- with substance and timing.

     

     God wants us to pray and He absolutely knows us and our needs -- better than we know ourselves.  He sees the whole picture when we only see a little piece of it, and then maybe not even as clearly as we think we do.

     God will always accomplish what is best.  He wants us to pray and leave the outcomes to Him.  He does want us to wait with something we rarely consider -- expectation.  That means we need to look for something great to be sent our way.  It might not be exactly what we wanted or asked for or even expected -- but better!  God only gives good gifts to His children. The outcome may be something amazing!  So wait with expectation and be patient for the outcome.
