We are a group of Christian women (and one man) who write daily devotionals and other articles of interest to women.
We publish daily. Praying that you will enjoy this ministry.

Thank you and God bless,
Corinne Mustafa.......and the Writing Staff of "WFM"

One of our writers is writing a novel, called AFTER THE EVENT, that is published Saturdays separately from the daily posts. There is a link on the left side that will take you to the blog of the novel which is being posted in installments.

Monday Writings......5/30/16

Good morning...
Happy Memorial Day and Happy Monday! Most of us are not at work today. Those of you who will still report to work so that the rest of us can buy groceries, shop for shoes, go to a movie, and eat out- thank you!

I hope and pray that each of us will remember our blessings, big and small, and all of those who have had a part in making our lives, our country, and our world what they are on this National Day of Remembrance.

God bless from
Corinne

Do you ever focus on some day on the horizon, such as Friday, or some special day, and then just go through the rest of the week on auto-pilot? In her devotional in Monday's Writings in Women's Focus Ministries, Mary Wilkins shares about the stream of routine she lives in week to week and her heart's cry to live in the moment and pay attention to each day.

"Day of the Week"
written by
Mary Wilkins

Did you play the day of the week game when you were in school? My friends and I would psych ourselves through long boring school days with phrases such as:

On Monday's we would break the day down: 'It's almost lunch, or we're already halfway through.'
'Tuesday is right before Wednesday, almost hump day.'
'Whew, Wednesday, we're halfway done.'
'Thursday is the day before Friday.'

Believe it or not, we did not say thank God it's Friday. It was a few years later when the restaurant chain opened and popularized that particular phrase in my neck of the woods.

Funny, but I still play the day of the week game:
'There's only one Monday- I can get through this.'
'Tuesday, at least it's not Monday.'
'Wednesday is hump day!'-thanks for bringing that back, Geico Insurance!
'Thursday is almost Friday.'
'Friday, finally, the weekend starts in a few hours!'
'Saturday, time to get everything done.'
'Sunday, wow, where did the weekend go?'

Time has proven that it will fly by, unless I am intentional about my focus on each day. So when we come to a 3 day weekend, I am grateful for the businesses, organizations, and individuals who publicly show their support and gratitude for those who have died while serving our country. Cub Scout troops, families, churches, and many others put flags on untold numbers of gravestones while solemn services take place today all over the world in memory of the ultimate sacrifice.

Dear Lord, please help me to live intentionally, be in the moment, and notice others instead of just running through the motions of this busy world. Please comfort the veterans, active duty military personnel, and family left behind as they remember those who gave it all. In Jesus name, amen.

You Are Worthy

Don't see yourself as insignificant,
Not worthy to come before God,
Fearing the stains are too deep to clean
From the sins you're guilty of
And don't feel as though you're not worthy
To dine at His table of grace,
Nor even to gather the scraps that fall,
Nor look into His loving face

But see yourself clothed in garments
Fit only to clothe a king,
Eating as His honoured guest
And wearing His signet ring
For that is how God sees you,
A worthy child indeed
A royal priesthood, bearing His name
The moment you came to believe

For surely as Christ's blood has washed you,
You shall be whiter than snow,
So don't see yourself as someone unworthy,
A tiny speck nobody knows
For that only belittles the value
Of Jesus Christ's spilled blood,
For it's through His blood he's cleansed you
And showed you how much He loved

He says, 'My child you are precious,
More than you can comprehend,
For nothing you've done could lessen my love,
For I'd always call you my friend
My heart just longs for you to come
And bask in my embrace,
My child, I will always love you
And pour out my mercy and grace

So don't feel afraid to draw near,
Nor feel you have no worth,
My son's blood has purchased you
And has given you new birth
So come, enjoy my presence
And let me hear you sing,
The new song I have given you,
For to me, you are everything’.

Lone senior graduates from Calvary Christian Academy

While other Christian schools have been forced to close their doors due to low enrollment, Richey said Calvary Christian will find a way to keep going.

All 32 students were in attendance Tuesday night, which was not only commencement for Emily, but also was the school’s annual awards night. Students were given awards for honor roll, perfect attendance, science fair, and the school’s elite “1000 Club,” which is earned when a student achieves 10 perfect test scores in a row.

After all of the awards were given, Emily nervously stepped up to the podium for her commencement address.

“If I would have known there would be a speech at the end, I wouldn’t have studied so hard,” she said, jokingly.

In her speech, she revealed her plans for the future. Emily plans on studying to be an automobile designer, although she is currently undecided on where she would like to study. Next year she will be traveling to Mexico to take part in a mission trip, and she also is interested in teaching piano while she’s in school.

“My piano teacher of 14 years taught me that it’s important to feel the music, and I would like to be able to teach that to others,” she said after her speech.
