Women's Focus Ministries

We are a group of Christian women (and one man) who write daily devotionals and other articles of interest to women.
We publish daily. Praying that you will enjoy this ministry.

Thank you and God bless,
Corinne Mustafa.......and the Writing Staff of "WFM"

One of our writers is writing a novel, called AFTER THE EVENT, that is published Saturdays separately from the daily posts. There is a link on the left side that will take you to the blog of the novel which is being posted in installments.

Wednesday Writings...4/27/16

Good morning...
This afternoon I met my Writing teacher for tea in a charming little shop in Blacksmith Square in Livermore. I had not seen her for a couple of months. We brought each other up to date on our personal goings on. If you who live in the Livermore would like to visit this artfully arranged shop, the the name is Luna Tea.

"Be Wise", today's devotional, was written by Sandy Billingham. She considers the idea from Proverbs 29:11 which advises to hold your tongue instead of venting your feelings.

  Today's Devotional

"Be Wise "
written by
Sandy Billingham

God tells us in Proverbs 29:11
"A fool vents all his feelings,
But a wise man holds them back."

Such a short passage but chalk full of excellent wisdom!
I definitely have not arrived but have come a long way in my walk with the Lord. In the past, there were multiple times that I openly vented my feelings. Mostly, my family took the brunt of my lack of self control. They experienced much of my foolishness first hand, and believe me that was not a pretty picture.

I am so thankful that the Lord has set me free of so much of that and has given me the strength to be still and not vent my feelings as I previously had. Through much, much prayer He has helped me to look to Him and overcome my foolish ways and trust Him more completely.

I still miss it at times, but I am so much more at peace and rest in Christ. Learning to depend on Him is a life long journey, but certainly it pays off!

No matter what comes my way, I desire to choose God's ways over my ways. Being wise in Christ is always the most excellent way!!

In His Wisdom,
Sandy Billingham

   10 Commandments of Human Relations

God gave us the ten commandments to show what He expected in our behavior. Here are some suggestions that are not actually commandments, but they will give you a road map which will bring you to a place where you can build a successful expertise at good Human Relations.

  1. Speak to people.
There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of greeting.
  2. Smile at people.
It takes 72 muscles to frown, only 14 to smile.
  3. Call people by name.
The sweetest music to anyone's ears is the sound of his own name.
  4. Be friendly and helpful. If you want friends, you must be one.
  5. Be cordial.Speak and act as if everything you do is a joy to you.
  6. Be genuinely interested in people. You can like almost everybody if you try.
  7. Be generous with praise...and cautious with criticisms.
  8. Be considerate with the feelings of others. There are usually three sides to a controversy: Yours, the other fellow's and the right side.
  9. Be eager to lend a helping hand.Often it is appreciated more than you know.
  10. Add to this:a good sense of humor, a huge dose of patience and a dash of humility. This combination will open many doors and the rewards will be enormous.
