Good morning...
Tomorrow I am meeting a friend who is going to become a writer on the staff or Women's Focus Ministries. She is a very insightful and will be a great addition to our staff.
Sunday our nephew, Zubair, has invited us to come down to San Jose after church and go out to lunch in Morgan Hill. After lunch he is going to take us to see a new house that he has just bought.
Have a scintillating Saturday!
The devotional today was written by Carol Steficek. and is titled, "God's Friends." It speaks of God's desire to know us intimately and to speak with us.Here is a snippet from Carol's writing. Jesus longs to be your intimate friend. Through faith in Him and grounded in His Word, we may not see "face to face" as Moses did but we can truly know.

Today's Devotional
"God's Friends"
written by
Carol Steficek
"With him I speak
face to face, clearly and not in riddles..."
Numbers 12:8a
Numbers 12:8a
This passage in Scripture is God's description of how He talked to Moses, just
as a friend would -- face to face. That is quite mind-boggling if you ask
me.
The reason this happened is because Moses knew God. He spent time with Him
and learned to listen to Him.
Do you want to know something just as amazing? God wants to speak to you
and me today. Jesus told His disciples that they were no longer servants,
He called them His "friends."
Do you long to understand the dreams and visions you have for your life?
Do you seek direction for your life? Do you need guidance and
wisdom? Get to know the One who can reveal what dreams and visions God
has planned for your life and how everything can be fulfilled for you.
Don't give up on your future because you don't know how to accomplish what you
want. Get to know God as your friend. It is He who can give you
beyond what you can possibly imagine.
Jesus longs to be your intimate friend. Through faith in Him and grounded
in His Word, we may not see "face to face" as Moses did but we can
truly know. What a friend we have in Jesus.

Humorous Stories
SHORT N SWEET
SHORT N SWEET
In Sunday School, they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs. Later in the week, his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill,and said,'Johnny what is the matter?'Little Johnny responded,'I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife.

A little boy opened the big and old family Bible with fascination, and looked at the old pages as he turned them. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible, and he picked it up and looked at it closely. It was an old leaf from a tree that had been pressed between the pages.
'Momma, look what I found,' the boy called out. 'What have you got there, dear?' his mother asked. With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered: 'I think it's Adam's suit!'

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to "honor" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?" Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, "Thou shall not kill."

Inspiration
We will never know how other people see us until they tell us about what they feel or see in us. I truly believe that most people can be an inspiration to someone else. People watch and get inspired by what they see. To you it is the way you are and no big deal. I used to tell a story when I worked in the recovery program at my church. It was about the crocus. Back east the crocus blooms in late February and the flowers push up through the snow. I said that it is a very tough flower. and I said that people who are going through any type of recovery be it emotional or because of addictions are tough like the crocus because going through recovery is very difficult. A friend told me years later that she remembered my analogy and had never forgotten it. She told me that it meant the world to her.
