Wednesday Writing...5/13/20..."LEAD ME IN THE PATH"

Good Morning,

Today the writing looks at how God leads his people in the paths He has chosen for them. One would do well to be sensitive to the paths to which God leads them' Here is a quote from this writing, "This might come up as a question...if I am already assured salvation why do I need to do these kinds of things. I believe that gratitude for and love of the Lord is what moves us, and we show this by doing things in thanksgiving for Him."

This is something we should be happy to do!

With love and blessings,

"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know
my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me
that offends You, and lead me in the path of
everlasting life.Psalm 139:23-24

God searches us and knows all about us...in fact, He already knows without searching us. However, I think He image of examines us to decide what the best way to reach us and to bring about the knowledge and habits that He wants to see in our lives. His input is based on His knowledge of a person's heart.

The psalmist asks the Lord to lead him in the path of everlasting life. That path varies from person to person. Since the time of the death and resurrection we know that all we need to do is to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and we will have "everlasting life." However, when our  eternity is secure there is much more that we can and should do by choosing the correct path.

There are so many paths from which to select.
  • A young woman from  our church has gone to Uganda to work as a missionary.
  • People volunteer to drive older people to the doctor or on other errands.
  • One woman of whom I know has started an organization with her husband to work against trafficking women and using them as slaves.
  • Some people volunteer to head up a ministry at their church.
  • Others help out in a nursery school of other kinds of endeavors with children.
  • There are writers that create a blog for one day in a Blog ministry.
I am sure that there are readers who have elected something different than any of the things that I have used as an example.

This might come up as a question...if I am already assured salvation why do I need to do these kinds of things.

I believe that gratitude for and love of the Lord is what moves us, and we show this by doing things in thanksgiving for Him.
