Tuesday Writing...5/19/20..."The Right To Be His Children"

Good Morning,

Today the theme of the writing is that when people believe in the name of Jesus He gives them the right to become His children. Sandy just tells the story of praying with a salesman who knocks on her door. The exciting thing about this meeting is that Sandy prayed for the salesman and then took a step further and asked him if he would like to invite Jesus into his life. He said yes, they prayed the sinners prayer together, and the salesman left as one of God's children. (YEA Sandy!) Here is a quote from this writing, "I rejoice in the opportunity to be a vessel for the Lord. Because of the times we live in, we know Jesus will truly be coming back soon.  My prayer is, "use me more Lord to bring in the harvest," for we know the harvest is ripe!"

Today's Devotional "He Gave Them The Right To Be His Children...
Written by Sandy Billingham

There was a familiar knock at our door that we have heard multiple times throughout the years. I naturally thought it was our neighbor, Mary. Expecting Mary, I swung open our front door! To my surprise it was not my neighbor, but a salesmen. He was somewhat shy, but immediately did his well polished "sales pitch" on me regarding a security system, with a really good deal that he would throw in! I let him know we were not looking for security systems, but would be soon investing in an  Air Conditioner.

We exchanged some small talk back and forth and I came to a place where I flat out asked him if he had any special prayer he wanted. He was quick to respond that he did want prayer. He had just moved to our city and was appointed a manager over many college kids. He was feeling the stress and the pressure and could use some prayer.

I prayed a short prayer of peace over him and added a few more things and ended it. As I finished he looked up and shared he felt some tingling during the prayer time. That got me excited because I knew it was the power of God's presence and His Holy Spirit. I then asked him if he had ever asked Jesus into his life, and if he had not, would he like to do that right now? His response was a resounding, "Yes!"
Right then and there Tanner prayed the salvation prayer with me and surrendered his life to Jesus with great anticipation. I then explained what had just happened... especially him now having his name written in the book of life. It was a glorious moment!
God's Word clearly explains to us...
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. John 1:12
Tanner made a decision to follow Jesus last Tuesday, and at that moment his life was forever changed. He received Jesus into his life and believed in His name.  Tanner was now a Child of the King forever.. and he would be spending eternity with Jesus!

I rejoice in the opportunity to be a vessel for the Lord. Because of the times we live in, we know Jesus will truly be coming back soon.  My prayer is, "use me more Lord to bring in the harvest," for we know the harvest is ripe!

These are exciting times to reach out and pull many out of the fiery pits of hell into His marvelous light!! Let's reach out today so many more may be given that right to be children of God!
