Monday Writing...5/18/20..."For Such A Time!"

Good Morning

Today's writing is built around the scripture listed in the title. Not only is a person chosen for a particular calling by the Holy Spirit, but he or she needs to remember something. She is called, and because she has been called by God. Here is a quote from this writing, "We need to believe that when, we are asked to do something, it is we need to think that we may have been born "for such a time," and accept the calling. We may be the only person who can do it effectively.

This is a thrilling blessing to those who are called!
Love and blessings.

Today's Devotional
"For Such A Time!"

You all remember the story of Esther. She was the only person who could save the Jewish people. She was fearful at first, but her uncle Mordecai pointed out that she was the only person who would have success. He told Esther ...

...who can say but that God has brought you into the palace
for just such a time as this?”
Esther 4:10b

It is not my purpose here to talk of the wonders of this Bible story. I only wanted to use the scripture quote that is highlighted above as a theme for this devotional.

We all have faced directives from God of special  appointments engagements He has chosen for us to perform in His name. Here are a couple of such appointments He has chosen for people that I know who have shared with me.
  • When this first friend was a young woman she was called by God to take care of her mother who was slowly dying from Alzheimer's. She dropped her life for the time and went to live and work in the nursing home so she could be near her mother. It was not easy, but she began to witness to the other old ones who lived with her mother resulting in some of them accepting the Lord. She was able to witness to her own grandmother who lived there as well, and she led her to the Lord as well. At the end of the time she was over she was left with the blessing of knowing that she had done the right thing and the happy memories of that special time with her mom.
  • Here is another story that a friend shared with me, She grew up in a church that practices infant baptism. One Sunday morning there was a Baptism at service. My friend thought that it had nothing to do with her. She began to notice a drawing on her spirit to be baptized. She remained negative during several even though she began to understand that it was the Holy Spirit that she was hearing from. She began to realize that the first Baptism was her parents choice but this second time would be her choice. She then longed to speak her craving to the people who would see and hear about her choice.
When we get an inspiration from God to do something the temptation might be to think that someone else could and should do it. We need to believe that when we are asked to do something, it is we need to think that we may have been born "for such a time," and accept the calling. We may be the only person who can do it effectively.
