Good Morning,
Carol Steficek wrote the writing for today which is titled, "THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT," We all know what this two part commandment is. Carol wrote. "No wonder this is the greatest commandment. It sums up everything we should be doing with our lives. It is one we can follow only by the grace of God as we strive to follow Him."No wonder this is the greatest commandment. It sums up everything we should be doing with our lives. It is one we can follow only by the grace of God as we strive to follow Him." It is a tall order, but with the grace of God we can do it.
Have a day filled with love for God and your neighbors.
God bless,
Carol and Corinne

Today's Devotional
"THE GREATEST
COMMANDMENT"
"He answered:
'Love the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your soul
and with all your strength and with all your mind,
and, love your neighbor as yourself.'"
and with all your strength and with all your mind,
and, love your neighbor as yourself.'"
Luke 10:27
What does this Bible verse really say? We're all so familiar with it that
I'm sure we think we follow it -- at least somewhat.
Basically this commandment is saying "deny yourselves." Ah, now
that is a different matter. None of us really do that very much.God wants to be absolutely first in each of our lives. As our Creator and Redeemer and Sanctifier He deserves nothing less. He wants us to surrender ourselves to His will for our lives. Then, after that, He wants us to serve our neighbors before ourselves.
Wow! That is a tall order -- to always put God first in my life over my own wants and desires and then to go out and sacrifice myself in serving others.
No wonder this is the greatest commandment. It sums up everything we
should be doing with our lives. It is one we can follow only by the grace of
God as we strive to follow Him. Fulfilling this commandment takes a life
time -- a process of becoming more like Jesus.
