Saturday Writing by Carol Steficek......3/4/17

Good Morning,

The devotional for today was written by Carol Steficek and is titled,  "BOUNDARIES."   Her theme is that people seem to live these days with an attitude of no holes barred...or no boundaries. Carol wrote, "Are you living by God's standards or that of the world around you?  Do you fit in or stand out by your obedience and moral standards?"

                                                      Today's Devotional                                                        

   "BOUNDARIES"

"Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. 

 They keep watch over you as men who must give account." 

Hebrews 13:17a

    

     Have you noticed that in today's world many people have no boundaries?  Many people live as they want with no thought to others.  Others are outright criminals -- there are murders and thefts reported in the news daily.  Others have no compunction about committing adultery, just so they don't get caught.  The list goes on and on.

     I haven't raised teen-age children so I can't empathize with those of you who are parents. But I have had, and still have many pets.  Everyone has a problem with boundaries.

     

     As believers, we need to live by different standards than others live by in this world.  There are things which just don't belong in our lives.  If you analyze your life-style, what sets you apart from all of the other people with whom you come in contact? 

     

     

Do you see the same movies, read the same books, ignore God except for an hour on Sunday mornings?  Do you swear at someone who cuts you off in traffic, keep the change when someone makes an error on your bill? Are you living by God's standards or that of the world around you?  Do you fit in or stand out by your obedience and moral standards?

     We are not to live by what is politically correct in an ever changing society.  We are to think, say, and do what God would have us do in all situations.
