Wednesday Writing by Sandy Billingham......1/11/17

Good morning,

"Be Quick To Forgive" is the title of the writing today by Sandy Billingham. I have personal experience. A person who means a lot to me took offense in something I said to her. I was not a total innocent in it, but I meant no harm. A couple of weeks later I called her and told her it was a miscalculation in what I said to her. We decided to meet for coffee and pie and the hatchet was burried. We both were thankful. Sandy writes, "I spent several hours with that particular person today and the day couldn't have been better!! There is Freedom in Forgiveness. It is truly the best way to go every time!!"

Hope your Wednesday is the top of the hump of this week as the camel would say.

God bless,
Corinne & Sandy

Tuesday Devotional
"Be Quick To Forgive"

Last night I had an opportunity to take offense over a situation with another person. I will have to admit that in the moment, I was really tempted to give in and be offended. After all, I was being the adult in the situation and this other person was acting like a child. (as so offense usually goes and tends to grow) Many accusations against this person began to swirl around in my mind over and over. That seemed to go on for awhile until I began to come to my senses!

The following scripture is the perfect medicine on handling any offense that comes our way.

"Be even-tempered, content with second place,
quick to forgive an offense.
Forgive as quickly and completely
as the Master forgives you."
Colossians 3:13
MSG

That passage says it all in a nutshell whenever we are struggling with offenses. We must not fly off the handle, and immediately be ready to forgive. We must forgive completely as our Heavenly Father forgives us!
If  we choose to walk that passage out sincerely, we will experience His peace in our hearts and His love towards that person or persons. Yes, sometimes it may take time to work through it, but we must first be obedient to His Word and everything else shall follow in time.

You guessed it, I chose to forgive that person, and I am ever so glad I did. I was pretty miserable until I forgave and released that person  to Jesus.
I spent several hours with that particular person today and the day couldn't have been better!! There is Freedom in Forgiveness. It is truly the best way to go every time!!
In His Forgiveness!
