Good Morning,
The theme for today's writing is along the lines of making what can be called resolutions, but are really plans to quiet down into a quiet mode so we can hear what God is telling us about how to tailor our lives to be who He created us to be. "Setting Spiritual Goals for the New Year" is written by Diane Sutton. She writes, "For the New Year, let us make a fresh commitment to spend more quality time in the presence of the Lord. Let us be willing to go even deeper in our relationship with the Lord, challenging ourselves to grow spiritually in new ways." This would move us toward our own desires to be a WOW...a Woman of God.
Praying that your Tuesday will be beyond terrific. Please pray for our country and for people who are hurting who you do not know as well as for those that you do know.
God Bless
Corinne & Diane

"Setting Spiritual Goals for the New Year"
Christmas
has come and gone. Presents have been
unwrapped, food eaten and visitors are leaving for home. It is the week after Christmas...before the new
year begins. This is the time we reflect
on the past year and look forward to the new year. Many of us make resolutions
for the new year such as attend a weight loss program, go to the gym, find a
better job, or go back to college.
Are we reflecting on the past year of what God has done and how we have grown spiritually? Are we making spiritual goals for the New Year? I know many people plan to do a daily devotion or decide to follow a schedule to read through the Bible in one year, but do we plan the time we will spend just being still with God every day?
Now
that the hectic part of the season is winding down, let us make a commitment to
learn to be still before God. Let us make a daily commitment to spend time listening
to God. I spend 3-4 hours in a daily commute to work listening to praise music,
praying and receiving revelations. Even though I am driving, this is my special
uninterrupted, no distractions time with God.
For
the New Year, let us make a fresh commitment to spend more quality time in the
presence of the Lord. Let us be willing to go even deeper in our relationship
with the Lord, challenging ourselves to grow spiritually in new ways.
He says, “Be still,
and know that I am God; I will be
exalted among the nations, I will be
exalted in the earth.”
“Now
then, stand still and see this great thing the Lord
is about to do before your eyes!
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when
they carry out their wicked schemes.
