Good Morning, 

It is my prayer that you all had a beautiful Christmas Day as you celebrated the birth of our Savior.

"LUKEWARM" is the title of the devotional written by Carol Steficek for today. Her theme is that people are not pleasing to God when they waffle around from one side ot the fence to the other without ever taking a stand. Carol writes, "Some let a few do most of the work in the church -- evangelism, outreach to the community, and other program.  Some think one hour of worship a week is all they need.  They don't want to do anything to grow in their relationship with God."

Have a great Monday thanking God for the blessings He gives us. Please remember to pray for our country and for needing and hurting people everywhere.

Tuesday Devotional

 "LUKEWARM"

"At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps 

and punish those who are complacent..." 

Zephaniah 1:12a

     This passage comes from a book in the Old Testament.  God is not pleased with people who are complacent.  Similarly, in the book of Revelation Jesus also talks about wanting His people to be hot or cold -- not lukewarm.

     

      I think lukewarm pretty much sums up much of the church of Jesus Christ today.  Many people are complacent and content.  They are satisfied with the way things are and the way they are spiritually.  Some let a few do most of the work in the church -- evangelism, outreach to the community, and other program.  Some think one hour of worship a week is all they need.  They don't want to do anything to grow in their relationship with God.

     

      Some are beginning to comprise with the ways of society and the world.  They don't stand up for Scriptural principles for fear of offending someone.  Never mind that this greatly offends God!

     

      The time is coming when Christians will no longer be accepted for their unique message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Christians already are not "politically correct."  Soon we will have to either take a stand for Christ, firmly grounded in the Word of God, or not be counted as Christians at all.  Lukewarm won't do.
