Good Morning,
Kelly Dobyns wrote this writing, and it is titled, "Music for the Lord." Kelly loves music and finds it calming and relaxing. She found several scriptures that tell what the Lord thinks about music. Kelly wrote, "In my mind….worship music is one of the most wondrous tools to carry on the story of the Lord. There is such a variance of styles to choose from. What I love best to do is have a great range of my favorites. I can hear a song once and I know that I will love it forever. Sometimes, it is the melody of the music, but, mostly it is the words that speak to me and I take to heart."
One day closer to the celebration of "the REASON for the season." Hope your Friday is out of sight.
God bless,
Corinne & Kelly

Lately, I have not been singing so much during worship at church, I have, however, been really enjoying listening and taking in the words. I know that I a just taking it all in and savoring it to my body, as opposed to trying to keep up with the words that I may not know and in doing so missing out on the whole experience that the music has to nourish me with.
Let the
message of Christ dwell among
you richly

Tuesday Devotional
by Kelly Dobyns
"Music
for the Lord"
We
should always sing unto the Lord. It
makes me happy, and it pleases our Father.
O come,
let us sing unto the Lord:
let us make a joyful noise
to the rock of our salvation.Psalm 95:1(KJV)
to the rock of our salvation.Psalm 95:1(KJV)
Lately, I have not been singing so much during worship at church, I have, however, been really enjoying listening and taking in the words. I know that I a just taking it all in and savoring it to my body, as opposed to trying to keep up with the words that I may not know and in doing so missing out on the whole experience that the music has to nourish me with.
I completely believe the following statement...
“Music
speaks what cannot be expressed,
soothes the mind and gives it rest,
heals the
heart and makes it whole,
flows from heaven to the soul!”
Add to that the fact that we can sing joyfully to the Lord, our
rock and savoir, we are so truly blessed.
...singing
psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves,
and making music to the Lord in your hearts
Ephesians 5:19
(NLT)
and making music to the Lord in your hearts
Ephesians 5:19
(NLT)
Singing or even just
listening to worship music will change my day.
It brings me out of a dark sadness, calmness to a storm in my mind, and
tears of splendor coming from my heart knowing what He has done for me.
Psalm
98
Sing a new song to the Lord,
Sing a new song to the Lord,
for he has
done wonderful deeds.
His right hand has won a mighty victory;
his holy arm has shown his saving power!
The Lord has announced his victory
and has revealed his righteousness to every nation!
He has remembered his promise to love and be faithful to Israel.
The ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.
His right hand has won a mighty victory;
his holy arm has shown his saving power!
The Lord has announced his victory
and has revealed his righteousness to every nation!
He has remembered his promise to love and be faithful to Israel.
The ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.
Shout to the Lord, all the
earth;
break out in praise and sing for joy!
Sing your praise to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and melodious song,
with trumpets and the sound of the ram’s horn.
Make a joyful symphony before the Lord, the King!
break out in praise and sing for joy!
Sing your praise to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and melodious song,
with trumpets and the sound of the ram’s horn.
Make a joyful symphony before the Lord, the King!
Let the sea
and everything in it shout his praise!
Let the earth and all living things join in.
Let the earth and all living things join in.
Psalm 98:1-7 (NLT)
In my
mind….worship music is one of the most wondrous tools to carry on the story of
the Lord. There is such a variance of
styles to choose from. What I love best
to do is have a great range of my favorites.
I can hear a song once and I know that I will love it forever. Sometimes, it is the melody of the music,
but, mostly it is the words that speak to me and I take to heart. These are the words that I am able to put
into my own words to share with all others.
To let my voice speak about my Father and what he has and will continue
to do for all of us. I am truly
blessed!!
Let the
message of Christ dwell among
you richly
as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit,
singing to God with gratitude in
your hearts.
