Good morning,
The devotional today is called, "SHE GAVE ALL SHE HAD" and was written by Sandy Billingham. She told the story of how Mary washed the feet of Jesus. Mary used oil that was very costly to honor Jesus. She surely did give all she had. This brought her to consider if she was willing to give all she could of her time, her money, and her all. Sandy wrote, "You can know that the Lord will continue time and time again to give us many opportunities to go the extra mile to "give what we can." We can learn by example that Mary truly gave what she could where she was in her heart."
Hoping you will have a Wednesday of feeling generous.
God bless,
Corinne & Sandy

Today's Writing
"She Gave All She Had"
As my thoughts poured over many times in the past, I really had to stop and take a good look at my heart. I questioned myself as to opportunities the Lord put before me and if I was always willing to grab hold of them. To be honest with myself I would have to say that I was not always willing to give of myself at any given moment or opportunity. Or for that matter to give my all.
As I studied the passage of John 12:3 I felt somewhat convicted by the Holy Spirit. Let's take a glance at it as follows:
of very costly oil of spikenard,
anointed the feet of Jesus,
and wiped His feet with her hair.
And the house was filled
with the fragrance of the oil."
Mary was known as a "woman of the day." In other words she had a very poor reputation and was looked down upon by society. But she came with great humility sitting at the feet of Jesus pouring this very, very costly oil upon Jesus. Not only did she pour it on Him and His feet, but she even went as far as wiping His feet with her hair.
Mary brings me to the tough question for myself. Am I willing to give what I can as Mary gave what she could? Am I willing to sacrifice my time, my money, my all and to give what I can? Even to the place of being misunderstand as Mary was. Mary loved Jesus, but was scrutinized by some for her actions.
You can know that the Lord will continue time and time again to give us many opportunities to go the extra mile to "give what we can." We can learn by example that Mary truly gave what she could where she was in her heart.
I challenge each of us today to be ready and willing at any given time to always reach out to Jesus and "give what we can." As we do that we will experience a greater love and devotion to our loving Savior Jesus Christ, and He will continue to change us from Glory to Glory!
In His Glory!
