Good Morning,
The devotional for Thursday is called "Truth,God's Truth...Love," and was co-written by Brother Thomas and Jody Ward. The theme is that the immorality and believing whatever is easy and pleases them is not true in the light of who God is. God is love. Brother Thomas wrote, "They will go around looking for teachers who will tell them pleasing things that they are itching to hear." Jody wrote, "God is looking for men and women whose hearts are filled with God’s love, but carry the fire, sword and hammer of truth on their lips."

Truth, God’s Truth...Love
For there is going to
come a time when people won’t listen to the truth or good teaching. They will
not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction that challenges them with
God’s truth.
They will go
around looking for teachers who will tell them pleasing things that they
are itching to hear. They will feed on junk food instruction that is full of
catchy spiritual opinions that tickle their fancy. They will gather around them
a great number of instructors and teachers, chosen specifically to satisfy
their own desires and support the errors they hold.
Truth, God’s truth They will close their ears to true teaching and will wander off into
myths and man-made fictions. They won’t listen to the truth but will follow
their own misguided ideas. They will turn away from what the Bible says and
accept the unacceptable.
2 Timothy 4.3-4
Today, we live in a time
when people do not have an appetite for the truth. They do not want to hear
truth that makes them uncomfortable, or hurts or makes them accountable.
Truth, God’s truth,
often hurts, convicts and holds us accountable, but without it we cannot make
any meaningful impact on our society.
God is looking for men
and women whose hearts are filled with God’s love, but carry the fire, sword
and hammer of truth on their lips. Their words and deeds may not be on the news
report or win an Oscar, but they will surely turn men away from destruction and
feed the solid food of truth to a hungry world.This is God’s mandate to us, to speak and live His truth we need to examine the content of our message – our words and our works – and make whatever adjustment is necessary to truly reflect the mind of God.
