Good Morning,
This morning I went back to church with some friends to pray for Kaleb. We were interceding for him and his family. After a couple of hours I checked my email on my found and learned that (as his grandfather said) had gone home to be with Jesus. That knowledge seemed to hold us captive for the whole day. Kalib is home with no pain. He is healthy. The pain that we all feel is the pain of loss for his family. That is the way it always is when someone passes away. We know that the person is home for eternity. The pain is for those who loved the person and who feel the loss intensely.

The Tuesday Devotional is called "Walking with Jesus." Diane Sutton wrote this devotional. She discusses the many ways that one can walk with Jesus and includes related Scriptural verses which are great to have. Diane wrote, "w has God designed your path and are you following it? For no two paths will look alike or be the same – each is unique. Are you following the unique path that God has given you?"

Today's Devotional
"Walking with Jesus."
What does our walk
with Jesus look like?
Are we walking
ahead of Jesus, along side, behind or in the opposite direction?
Are we always in a
hurry that we are rushing ahead of God and then don’t understand why our life
has gotten so out of balance. Or have we gotten lost and have turned around
walking from Jesus.
We have to decide
what our path is going to be – are we going to walk around, walk away, walk
with, walk ahead, walk behind, walk along side, walk fast, walk slowly…
When we walk with
Jesus, many times our pace will slow down to the point when we feel like it is
a crawl rather than a walk. It doesn’t matter what the pace is as long as we
keep pace with Jesus.
Too many times we
decide we don’t want to walk the same pace because we are in a hurry or we
decide to take another direction which we think will get us to our destination
more quickly.
God knows us. He
knows we need His direction and guidance. For this reason God guided the
Israelites out of Egypt as a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. He
knew they would lose their way or turn back if He did not guide them to the
promise land. After Jesus Christ’s ascension, the Lord gave us the Holy Spirit
to guide us, knowing without Him we would lose our way.
The Lord not only
guides us but also gives us the provisions we need to make the journey. As He provided
manna to the Israelites for food, His written word feeds us providing
revelation and understanding. As we travel through rough and sometimes
seemingly impassable paths, God gives us the courage, boldness, faith, rest, and
perseverance to continue.
God has designed our
path from beginning to the end and everything in between. Some of us will take
a more wandering scenic route; others will have a more straight direct path.
How has God designed your path and are you following it? For no two paths will
look alike or be the same – each is unique. Are you following the unique path
that God has given you?
“Because of your
great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness. By day the pillar
of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of
fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.
Direct me in the path
of your commands, for there I find delight.
I have kept my
feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word.
I gain
understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.
Your word is a
lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
in all your ways
submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
The path of
the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full
light of day.
Give careful
thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.
She gives no
thought to the way of life; her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not
know it.
For your ways are
in full view of the Lord, and he examines all
your paths.
You have made
known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your
presence.’
