Good Morning,
The devotional for today is called, "You’re in God’s Army Now!" It was written by Diane Sutton. The theme is that once you have accepted Jesus you have become a soldier in God's army and must always be ready to fight in His military. We are to adorn ourselves in the armor of God and be able to defeat the spiritual enemies that prowl the world causing havoc and attempting to bring defeat in God's kingdom. Diane wrote, "Remember that our enemies don’t stand a chance to succeed in their schemes against God’s Word, the Truth. Let us walk every day in confidence that we are on the winning side and that victory is ours because of what Jesus did on the Cross."
Have a powerful Tuesday!

Tuesday Devotional – 9/27/16
You’re in God’s Army Now!
Do you know that as soon as you accept the invitation to follow Jesus you become a warrior in the spiritual army, following the mightiest of all warriors – God?
Isaiah 42:13 states,
“The Lord will march out like a champion,
like a warrior He will stir up His zeal;
with a shout He will raise the battle cry
and will triumph over His enemies.”
As spiritual warriors we need to be ready for battle, able to handle our weapons, have on the face of a fierce lion and be swift as a gazelle. (see 1 Chronicles 12:8)
We are told in Ephesians 6 to put on the full armor of God so we can firmly stand our ground against the devil’s schemes. We must remember that our “struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
The strong warrior is one who is strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. The fearless warrior is one who uses the truthful word of God as a sword to shred the enemy’s lies and holds up the impenetrable shield of faith to block the fiery arrows of the enemy. The devoted warrior is one who perseveres in prayer, stays alert and prays in the Spirit on all occasions and for all of the Lord’s people.
Whenever we are battle-weary, fatigued, feel like we can’t take another step forward, let us remember that the Lord is with us like a mighty warrior so that our enemies will stumble and not prevail. Our enemies will fail and be thoroughly disgraced. (Jeremiah 20:11)
Joel 3 says to proclaim this among the nations: Prepare for war! Rouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and attack. Come quickly, all nations from every side, and assemble there. Bring down your warriors, Lord!
Zephaniah reminds us that the great day of the Lord is near— near and coming quickly. The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter; the Mighty Warrior shouts his battle cry. The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.
Let us not walk in fear of our enemies but stand strong and firm that we are mighty warriors following God, The Almighty Warrior. Remember that our enemies don’t stand a chance to succeed in their schemes against God’s Word, The Truth. Let us walk every day in confidence that we are on the winning side and that victory is ours because of what Jesus did on the Cross. So go forth mighty warriors!
