Good Morning...
Today's devotional is written by Diane Sutton. The title is "Taking The Good News into Our Community." Diane is a person who reaches out to others she finds that God has placed into her path. She speaks into their lives and many cases she shows them why accepting Jesus is something that they may want to do. Diane wrote, "Let us be encouraged that the Lord will always be with us as we deliver the message of the Good News to everyone. Let us not be afraid to talk about the Good News to anyone, anywhere." We would do well to follow Diane in this mission for spreading the Good News.

And then he told them,
“You are to go into all the world and
preach the Good News
to everyone, everywhere. Those who
believe and are baptized will be saved. But those who refuse to believe will be
condemned.“And those who believe shall use my authority to cast out
demons, and they shall speak new languages. They will be
able even to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous,
it won’t hurt them; and they will be able to place their hands on the sick and
heal them.”When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was
taken up into heaven and sat down at God’s right hand. And the disciples went everywhere preaching, and the Lord
was with them and confirmed what they said
by the miracles that followed their
messages.

16:15-20

On many
Friday evenings I join a small group of women at a local mall to present the
Gospel through dream interpretation and prophetic words of encouragement to
people just passing by. We have witnessed numerous people accepting Christ as
their Savior, others have been healed, and many are now freed from demonic
spirits. We have witnessed how God
profoundly touches each person’s heart and soul. Many people are so blessed
that they hug us in tearful gratitude just for sharing God’s love with them.
Jesus
said we are to go into the world and preach the Good News to everyone,
everywhere.
If we truly want to reach people
for Christ then we should consider following the example of the disciples who
went everywhere preaching the Gospel. We should be able to speak about Jesus to
people in the workplace, grocery store, hairdresser, veterinarian office, gas
station and anywhere we happen to be. As “the Lord was with them”, the Holy
Spirit is with us, guiding and equipping us as we go about our daily business telling
others about Jesus.
Let
us be encouraged that the Lord will always be with us as we deliver the message
of the Good News to everyone. Let us not be afraid to talk about the Good News
to anyone, anywhere.
Lord, forgive us for the many
opportunities we had to speak about you that were missed because of our fear or
timidness. Help us to overcome whatever it is that holds us back from talking
about the Good News. Give us your boldness and insight as we speak with others
about your loving goodness and salvation. Teach us O Lord to be more like you
so we can be the light and the salt of this world. Amen.
