Good morning...
Yesterday we went for a Chinese lunch with Storm's mom and stepdad. Then we went to Good Will and bought some things. You will think I am crazy when I tell you why. I wanted to get a small baby toy. Two years ago we happened to go to a cemetery to see the grave of an ancestor...a sea captain in the 1800's. I noticed a stone down the hill all by itself in a back corner. This is a picture of the headstone I found. It broke my heart. Last year I named him "Billy," and we visited his grave again. We found toys that people have left for him. I know it is silly but I bought a toy to leave there this year when we go again to visit his resting place. I know this little darling is in the arms of God. Still it feels that he is getting the love now from visitors that he probably did not get when he was a baby. Billy would be about 76 if he was alive now. Maybe his parents did love him and somehow something terrible happened. Whatever the truth, it is such a comfort to know that we are always in the arms of a God who loves us. Billy's life meant something, and he is now enjoying the infinite love of his Father. We will go to that cemetery next Monday, when we go on a two day road trip.
Today is going to be a beach day. We will go and have a picnic at a nearby lake. Meat and bread await our attention when lunchtime comes. I really like the ocean beach that we go to here better. However, Storm's two grandsons are coming with us and they want to go to Damariscotta Lake. We will go to Birch Point Beach (on the ocean) another day. It is one of my happy places on earth that I always picture when I am relaxing and relishing my memories.
Hope Tuesday treats you well!
God bless
Corinne

Today's devotional is entitled, "Ask for Wisdom," and is written by Diane Sutton. The theme of her writing is that when a person asks God for wisdom He will provide it. Diane has given us numerous scriptures to support her writing.
Here is a verse in James 1:5,,,
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Diane wrote, "Let us praise God for the wisdom that he so abundantly pours upon us when we ask."

Ask for Wisdom
When faced with difficult
decisions and situations people often want knowledge rather than wisdom. As
believers, let us not mistake knowledge for wisdom.
Knowledge is an understanding that we get
from our experience and education. Wisdom is the knowledge
that is gained from our experiences and the ability to understand things that
most others cannot understand.
1 Corinthians
1:25 states
“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human
wisdom…”
Only through
God’s wisdom can we understand the unfolding events of the world and what the
future will bring. We desperately need to God’s wisdom, not men’s wisdom
especially in the times we are now living. God alone knows where we have been,
where we are to be now and where we are to go.
God’s wisdom will guide us through the chaos of tomorrow and give us the
power and strength we need to endure. God’s wisdom protects us from our
enemies.
Let us seek
God’s wisdom in every area of our life. Let us be comforted by God’s
wisdom. Let us pray for God’s wisdom to
guide all of the world’s leaders for local communities to the highest level of
governments.
Let us
praise God for the wisdom that he so abundantly pours upon us when we ask.
Your commands are always with me and make me wiser
than my enemies.
Proverbs
11:30
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one
who is wise saves lives.
Proverbs
12:18
The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue
of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs
13:14
The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life,
turning a person from the snares of death.
Proverbs
16:21
The wise in heart are called discerning, and gracious
words promote instruction.
Proverbs
19:20
Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you
will be counted among the wise.
Proverbs
21:22
One who is wise can go up against the city of the
mighty and pull down the stronghold in which they trust.
Ecclesiastes
7:19
Wisdom makes one wise person more powerful than ten
rulers in a city.
Ecclesiastes
8:5
Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm, and the wise
heart will know the proper time and procedure.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
