Good Morning
Saturday with lots of Activities today. A church lawn sale, a friend's grand opening to her new restaurant, and an invitation to a cook out in the evening. The weather has been lovely although today is a bit humid.
The devotional today is called WHO IS KING? It was written by Carol Steficek. She is comparing the great worship people give to famous or rich people. They are adored and then sink into the past and are forgotten. She points out that only Jesus will live as our hero forever. Carol writes, " Do you want to recognize and worship the only true King? -- turn your gaze upwards and worship the King of Heaven."
Praying you all have a great Saturday!
God bless!
Corinne
WHO IS KING?
"On his robe and
on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."
Revelation 19:16
There is a great deal of "worship" in today's society of people who are famous, rich, and who have made a special mark in the minds of the people. Elvis Presley was the "king" of rock-and-roll. His home called "Grace Land" has thousands of visitors yearly. Michael Jackson was the "king" of pop. His records and movies still sell millions even after his death.
We can look back throughout the history of the world to see many monarchs and
rulers who were "kings" and "queens" in the annals of
history and are still studied in books.
The interesting part is, everyone has come and gone in the world scene (or assuredly will die like the rest). Only one true king has come and remains sovereign over all and will rule and reign forever -- the Lord Jesus Christ. Many places in the Bible talks about Jesus' reign and how God uses all of the other world leaders for His own purposes.
Psalm 103:19 states...
"The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom
rules over all."
Do
you want to recognize and worship the only true King?
-- turn your gaze upwards
and worship the King of Heaven.
