Friday we had to do a bunch of shopping. Storm's family reunion is on Sunday and we had to shop for things we were taking to eat and share. Before that we went to that little hot dog place (Wassus) for a hot dog. At the reunion we are also going to surprise celebrate the 80th birthday of Storm's stepdad. We got him a huge cake that says "Older than dirt" on it. That was the choice of Storm's mother. The activity for today is attendance at a Hot Air Balloon Faire. It will be lovely seeing the many colored balloons in the air above our heads.
Have a stupendous Saturday.
God bless

Saturday's devotional was written by Carol Steficek and is titled "INNER VERSUS OUTER." She says that many of us are worn out running after things we want because we lack confidence in that fact that God knows and and will provide. Carol writes, "God knows what you need and He's promised to meet these needs. See Him and His kingdom first and He'll take care of all the rest for you."
INNER VERSUS OUTER
"So do not worry,
saying,
'What shall we eat?'
'What shall we eat?'
or 'What shall we drink?'
or "What shall we
wear?'
for the pagans run after all these things,
and your heavenly Father
knows that you need them."
Matthew 6:31, 32
I think "run after" are telling words to describe life for all of us
today. We are just too busy. We have obligations to family and friends,
households to manage, yards to care for, jobs, studies, church commitments,
recreation we try to work into our schedules. This is a long list.
Not many of us truly know how to balance our outer and inner lives. I
dare say, many people probably don't have "inner" lives at all.
Everyone needs to have time for themselves. People need to know how to
pace themselves, set limits, wisely deal with priorities, learn to say
"no" when overtaxed.
Only by being in the Word of God and taking time in prayer and allowing
yourself to relax and rejuvenate can you be refreshed and renewed to tackle the
"outer" life in the world. By neglecting your inner self you won't
accomplish more. You'll just wear yourself out as you "run
after" the world.
God knows what you need and He's promised to meet these needs. See Him
and His kingdom first and He'll take care of all the rest for you.
