Saturday Writings......7/30/16

Good morning...

I started packing today for my trip to Maine. The good thing for today was that we ate out. We were invited out by our nephew who wanted us to see his sister who was visiting from Bangladesh. There were fourteen of us in the group and it was very entertaining.  I thought it was an Indian Restaurant but it was Korean. I have never eaten Korean food before, and I was surprised how much the food tasted like Indian food. I would give it an "A."

Have a great weekend, and enjoy your Saturday.

God bless from
Corinne

The Devotional component in the Saturday Writings of Women's Focus Ministries is titled, "SEEING THROUGH" and was written by Carol Steficek. The theme of this devotional faith and how you look at the world around you. Carol wrote, "I remember one of my pastor friends in Michigan quoted an old German phrase which said in effect: 'Too soon old, too late smart.'  It takes us a lifetime of experience to become wise in God's ways.."

"SEEING THROUGH"

"He replied...I tell you the truth,
if you have faith as small as a mustard seed...
Nothing will be impossible for you.'"
Matthew 17:20

Sometimes we just plain need to put our own vision and thoughts aside and begin to look at life through the eyes of faith.  We need to realize God acts for us in ways we often fail to see.  We need to realize God is acting for our very best no matter what happens.  We need to realize God is not late listening to our prayers even though we have to wait for answers.  We need to realize God's ways are the best even when they don't match ours.

I remember one of my pastor friends in Michigan quoted an old German phrase which said in effect: "Too soon old, too late smart."  It takes us a lifetime of experience to become wise in God's ways.

Don't we all wish we had our young bodies and minds with the wisdom we finally have accumulated as we've aged!  God does see us through everything we face in the course of our lifetime.  We need to focus on life with the eyes of faith as God walks with us.

Rogue Waves
Sometimes ðŸŽ‹ the choices of those closest to us can cause a ripple effect in our lives. At times they
almost drown us. Emotionally and otherwise. As we grow older we learn to mostly "ride the waves."
However. There are still times when we get "knocked off course" by what feels like a rogue wave. Those are the ones that hit you hard. They seem to "come out of nowhere" and are upon you. Before you know it.

They send you reeling. Top over bottom. Head over heels. This way and that. Over and over and over. Again. We don't see them coming. Though they build. Off in the distance.
But He does. Jesus does. For there is nothing. That surprises Him. For with His hands He created. The ocean. The waves. The way they move. And He knows. The way they roll. The way they crash. Over us. Beneath us. Inside of us. Exploding. In an instant.
So He stands. As only He can. He simply says "peace be still." And they are. Each one of them. Inside and outside. Of us. Once again. Then He beckons us. "Come."
Just come. To me. It is I. The lover of your soul. The One. Who first loved you. The One. Who held the Sea. So that you. Could pass. The One. Who healed the lame. And brought sight to the blind. The One. Who died. On the cross. So that you might live. To know Me. To trust Me. To love Me.
It is I. Who is calling. I know you by name. I know all your wanderings. I have your every tear. Saved. In a bottle. Your name. Is written. Upon the tablet. Of my heart. I have asked My Father. For you. Each and every. Day. I intercede at His feet. For you.
Do not fear. Do not. Be afraid. For I am with you. I will never leave you. Nor will I ever forsake you. I have loved you with an everlasting love and I call you my own.
