Monday Writings.....7/18/16

Good morning...

I wanted to share this prayer that a friend, Brother Thomas Ukwute (Nigeria), posted on FB. It is a powerful prayer for help to be every thing a person would hope and work to be in life.

Oh Lord, when I am lonely help me feel your presence & know you are there with me. When confused, help me find your wisdom to make the right decisions. When lost in thoughts & ideas, help me see your way & your light in darkness. In pain help me feel your comfort & peace. In joy help me not to forget to say thank you Lord for your favor. In abundance, help me to share with others who do not have. May I not be so foolish to withhold what you gave me to distribute. May I not be so ungrateful to shot my eyes to the needs of a destitute. May I be your hand, your eyes, your ears & your month today. May my life represent you in every place I go & in whatever I do today. Lord help me to walk in your grace & stay in your love no matter how difficult situations may seems to be. Thanks for your AMAZING GRACE from my heart this morning Lord I LOVE YOU. I wish all my friends the same desire as mine today. Have a fruitful and Holy Ghost filled and led service.

Have a good Monday.

God bless from
Corinne

Mary considered the ever increasing cruelty and hatred-driven activities that are ever increasing.

Mary wrote, "The beauty of someone loving another person enough to embrace the whole package, mess and all, reflects the love of God." She posted this graphic to illustrate her thoughts.

"Teach The World "

Grabbing my sunglasses from my purse as I wove my way through the bakery department I steered the cart with one hand trying to avoid shoppers and cookie displays. Some thought at the deli counter had brought tears to my eyes and I could tell I was very likely to have bright red eyes and nose from the pressure of unshed tears. Now I was actually crying behind the privacy of the sunglasses. Lovely dark sunglasses that provided protection but made it difficult for me to find which gallon of milk I wanted.

My sensitivity level is always high on after some act of terrorism. I learned to respect anniversaries such as D-Day and the Attack on Pearl Harbor. But I and everyone of a certain age joined those of national heartbreaking experience when we lived through that terrible Tuesday in 2001. Sheer terrorism and hatred.

I remember the song of the early 1970's that hoped for a changed world. It is not a Christian song as such but I am sure it reflects God's vision as He created the world. I appreciated more than ever the artist's description of a loving world and how when we are committed to others their struggle matters to us. When we choose to love and accept the other person right where they are at: their mess becomes our mess.

To me this message explains how millions of us who have no personal connection or loss in any one of the areas that are hit by terrorism, we are still shaken, and still grieve attacks anywhere in the world. The people affected are part of our human family.

The beauty of someone loving another person enough to embrace the whole package, mess and all, reflects the love of God.

But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us,
by the fact that while we were still sinners,
 Christ died for us.
 Romans 5:8 AMP

So we have come to know and to believe
the love that God has for us.
 God is love,
and whoever abides in love abides in God,
 and God abides in him.
 1 John 4:16 ESV

Dear Lord, thank You for being aware of us and loving us before we ever became aware of You. Please help us to love You, and to love our neighbors, near and far, known and unknown, as much as we love ourselves (see Luke 10:27). In Jesus name, amen.

I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing

This is something to hope for whether it is in the present,
or when we join God in eternity.

The singer is a ten year old girl.
Would that this world come closer to this for the children!

Each of us. Different. Amazing. Beautiful. Brought up in different ways,
"pots" or circumstances. In unity of purpose. To simply "bloom."
In the way we were made to bloom.
Not in comparison.
Of one another. But to contrast.
 And further compliment.
The one beside us.

   Prophetic  Statements
  and Texts    From the Bible

The Old Testament is Filled with Fulfilled Prophecy.
Hear are a few examples.

Babylon Will Be Reduced to Swampland

In Isaiah 14:23 (written between 701 and 681 BC), the prophet makes yet another prediction that does not come true until 539 BC.

Isaiah 14:23

"I will turn her into a place for owls and into swampland; I will sweep her with the broom of destruction," declares the Lord Almighty.

The prophet makes the bold claim that Babylon, which had been a world power at two different times in history, would be brought to a humble and final end. But not only that, Isaiah claims that Babylon would be reduced to swampland! Well, after Cyrus conquered Babylon in 539 BC, the kingdom never again rose to power, that is certain. And history tells us that the buildings of Babylon fell into a gradual state of ruin during the next several centuries. Interestingly, when archaeologists excavated Babylon during the 1800s, they discovered that some parts of the city could not be dug up because they were under a water table that had risen over the years!

The Jews Will Survive Babylonian Rule and Return Home

In Jeremiah 32:36-37, (written from about 626 and 586 BC), yet another prophet makes a bold prediction that was ultimately fulfilled in 536 BC.

Jeremiah 32:36-37

"You are saying about this city, 'By the sword, famine and plague it will be handed over to the king of Babylon'; but this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I will surely gather them from all the lands where I banish them in my furious anger and great wrath; I will bring them back to this place and let them live in safety.

In this passage, Jeremiah said that the Jews would survive their captivity in Babylon and return home, and both parts of this prophecy were ultimately fulfilled. Many Jews had been taken as captives to Babylon beginning around 605 BC. But, in 538 BC, they were released from captivity and many eventually returned to their homeland.

The Ninevites Will Be Drunk in Their Final Hours

In Nahum 1:10 (written around 614 BC) the prophet predicts the condition of the Ninevites at the time of their demise.

Nahum 1:10

They will be entangled among thorns and drunk from their wine; they will be consumed like dry stubble.

In this passage, and once again in Nahum 3:11, the prophet said that during the final hours of the attack on Nineveh, the Ninevites would be drunk! Well, guess what, there is evidence that this prophecy was actually fulfilled! According to the ancient historian Diodorus Siculus: "The Assyrian king gave much wine to his soldiers. Deserters told this to the enemy, who attacked that night." Siculus compiled his historical works about 600 years after the fall of Nineveh, and in doing so, confirmed the Biblical account!
